Dudley and what seems to be a playoff rival catholic any thoughts

Having just watched CC up close and personal and knowing a few things about Dudley........I believe Dudley is a more athletic team, especially in terms of speed. You'll have to stop the wing T run and a few well timed passes. Catholic D was disciplined and they are definitely capable of loading the box and making you beat them. Should be a great game. Dudley playing with a chip on their shoulder this year and tough to go against the home team. IMO, Dudley wins this game in what is in essence the state championship as I believe the winner of this game takes the trophy in 4A. Good luck to both teams!

It's always a battle with cc I tell you I remember our last championship we had to go through Mr hood last time and boy was it a fight that night we have yo come out better then we did in the first half last gsme

Going to be a battle that's for sure! 3rd time since 07 Dudley and CC have met in the playoffs

Dudley is a mighty tough place for a visitor to come and get away with a win anytime...especially this year....not gonna happen...Dudley by 10.................................

This has become a great playoff rivalry between the two storied programs. Both are very solid on defense and don't give up a lot of points. But I don't think Catholic has faced a team with as much talent, strength and speed like the Panthers.

close game through the 1st half and Dudley pulls away in the 2nd.
Dudley by 17

In recent years, that statement would be laughable (with CC having Mallard Creek and Rock Hill Northwestern on their schedules), but I think it's accurate for 2015. Ardrey Kell has good size and terrific speed, but they are soft. South Meck is tough, but they don't have great speed or size. Dudley will easily be the best overall package of all three attributes that Catholic has seen this year.

The flip side of that, of course, is that Catholic will probably be the best coached, best executing team that Dudley has seen this year, and Catholic is used to making deep playoff runs and winning in hostile environments, unlike most of the other opponents Dudley has played.

Dudley is a tough place, but CC played there two years ago so I think the coaches know how to handle it better now the second time around.
I think they'll have the kids ready for the noise of The Tarp. Just as long as I get my Dudley Dog and maybe some fish I will be good. LOL

You make a good point, but don't forget Coach Davis at Dudley has 3 rings, he and his staff will have them ready. Excellent coaching matchup in this one!

I might come for the fish!

This game is always close and somewhat low scoring. It's basically the 4A title game. I think Dudley wins 17-7 or 20-14 or somewhere in that area.

To stop Catholic you have to do two things: Line up over their guards and win that battle and seal the edge. I am not saying Catholic can not overcome this but it takes away what they do best. Dudley's coaches teach that style of play very well and have had the players to do just that. The old Country day coach understood that well and had a few wrinkles every year that were disruptive. Catholic is prepared well to play the game in a phone booth and Dudley handles that very well. Typically Catholic is so well school on Special teams that it has been an equalizer and kept the games very close.

Chopper and GND will you be at Dudley for the game on Friday? I know Prince of Dudley, myself and Footsoldier are all meeting up before the game.

Currently not in NC right now. I would like to see that game. I'm trying to make it back down for some title games.

I'm debating on going to this game or the east Forsyth-mallard creek game. Will let you guys know.

Boy, ill tell you what, that Dudley defense is stout, and they dont let up all night.

This one will be very close 21-20 type of ball game

I think it'll be something like 21-14, 14-10ish. Could see it going either way truthfully.
Is anyone else coming to this game? I know DHSCenter and Prince of Dudley should be there, but is anyone else?

I'd bet every goat in my possession, including Betsy, the goat with the " Johnny Roscoe For President " tattoo, and Misty, the bespeckled goat with her twelve saggy tits, that Mister Catholic Cougs Fourteen will be a mucho grande success in whatever endeavor his life's choosing takes him.
P.S. Dudley by thirteen.

Thank you for the kind words GSO! I am wondering if you will grace The Tarp with your presence on this Friday night at about 1930 hours?

If anyone wants updates my number is 704-612-3047
I'll also be able to provide updates of most every other game as well

10-8 Catholic at half. Special teams miscues. We will get it figured out. Stay safe on the roads bro....
