The first O and D series for MC were a microcosm of their season. Two procedure penalties and dbacks out of position twice.
Give MC props for the win but unreal they continue to have the same issues.
Pass Interference call on the INT was a weak flag.
Props to coach Willert and the Eagles. Passing game has made a difference for them

The one thing I have learned watching Mallard Creek is that you better play to the last second against them. That Byrnes game came in handy. It seemed that there was no panic from Mallard Creek on that last drive.

While Sammyk definitely jumped the gun and jinxed East, the premise of his post maybe true. Before the game a lot of folks acted as if Mallard Creek was on another level than East!! Or better yet, Charlotte is on another level than the Triad!! There's no moral victories in sports but I still feel that the Charlotte superiority on these forums should ease up a little. The whole idea of the Triad not being able to play "big boy football" was killed last night. It wasn't about strength of schedule or where the teams were from!! It was about two good teams battling to the end and Mallard Creek made one more play than East. With that said I feel the depth of Meck County football is overall better than the Triad but the notion of a good Triad team not equaling or being on the same level as a good Charlotte team should've been dispelled!! So while Sammyk may have upset the football gods, his message still rings with some truth in it!!!
Lets not forget that MC slayed all of their dragons on the road. Their last three wins... @ Butler, @ Hough, @ EF. Their half of the 4AA West was a minefield of legitimate title contenders. Catholic had to beat Vance, Scotland, N Davidson and go into Dudley as well.
Both programs are still standing. Battle tested and focussed on one common goal. Quite impressive and well done. Go win it all!

His message was one of premature celebration and frankly it mirrored his teams performance. Last year they got up 2 TDs on a mediocre Providence team at home and had one of the epic collapses of all time. This year they waited longer to do it but ball in your hand up 8 under 5 minutes to play , sorry....championship teams win that game.
You girls really have to get over this " stop being mean to us, we played good" stuff. It really is embarrassing. You don't ever see the Scotland, New bern, Crest, Dudley guys doing that. You guys are constantly throwing the "triad" name in this. There isn't a single Charlotte guy on this board who has ever said anything about Page, Dudley, NG etc,etc. Its Forsyth county we make fun of and largely its because of posts like this one or the guy who started this thread.
#1 seed and in most polls the #1 ranked and undefeated team got the #6 2 loss team at home. Threw the kitchen sink at them. Fake punts, wide receiver passes, kickoff return for a TD and a call back on a INT in the endzone that may have been one of the worse calls I have ever seen.
Still couldn't get it done.
EF has a great offense . Their kids played hard, their fans cheered hard and their coaches had a great game plan. Offensively it might have been one of the better efforts against a Mallard Creek team we have seen ever. However your inability to run the ball and play defense cost you the ballgame last night.

The entire county was in fact peeing themselves so excited about being able to come on here and other social media sites to let the " arrogant "Charlotte guys have it. So much so that you actually started posting your excitement 3 minutes before the actual game was over.... LMAO

Its not just Sammyk... Its the entire area. Twitter was blowing UP last night. When they went up 21-7 the anti-Charlotte drum was beating so loud you couldn't hear. Got any idea how many # ForsythCountyrules or #704isweak postings there were. I get it...people want to see ALI go down. He is brash and arrogant and people want to see him stagger and go down. Still standing though and if they win next week( Big if, Page is a bad matchup) then they move into rarified air with only a couple of programs in the states history.

And I've never said anyone was being mean or have I read where any complained about meaness. I also stated that there's no moral victories in sports. But you must admit B&G that the overall rhetoric from the "Meck faithful" was and is one of superiority. East was labeled severe underdogs and anyone who thought East could win was quickly addressed with possessing a lack of knowledge about Mallard Creek. As if the mere idea of East giving MC a good game was laughable because they lacked a tough schedule, big game experience and just being another "Triad" school. When in actuality if the schools played 10 times I'm not sure East wouldn't win 5. However MC got the win and I personally wish them well on their quest to 3-peat. And I only speak for myself not the entire Triad or entire Forsyth Co. I'm a Carver guy and not an East defender but the "weak Triad" talk got to the point that I had to respond.
If you go back and re-read the prediction thread, some of the "Meck faithful" didn't say any of that stuff. I know I personally said that EF could win this game, but they'd have to outscore MC to do it (and that EF was suitably equipped to do it). That almost played out just like I said.
