High school sports ain't just about flexing trophies. It's like, teamwork makes the dream work! But when parents turn into competitive Karens, it’s a total meme-fest of chaos. Coaches be like, 'I quit!' faster than a squirrel dodging traffic. Parent drama makes athletes feel like they're in a soap opera, caught between a rock and a hard place. Let’s keep it fun and chill, Carolina!

They have been terrible for while now

Not what I would call a terrible overall record . Not exactly the easiest conference in the state and if I remember correctly they normally played a decent N/C schedule. I thought the past season was horrible the way people were reacting, but 7-4 overall and 5-2 conference is not bad.

You would have go all the way back to 2007 and 2008 to see a HC from Garinger get another HC job after them in Chris Carter who now the HC at Orangeburg-Wilkinson in SC

Davie wasn’t 7-4….think you are on the wrong thread

My bad, was looking at 23-24 year. Can’t make myself let it be 24-25 year.
Record was not good.

Thanks for keeping me in line. As somewhat of a follower of Davie’s number rival, they always seem good to me.

Devore Holman currently the DC at Mooresville. Would he return to Davie County?

Lee Linville currently HC at South Iredell

Both are Davie County Graduama

No way Holman would ever go back after the way he was treated. Linville would be a good candidate based on the improvement he has made in SI

Seems like this job would attract good candidates. DCHS moved to a new campus and facilities not that long ago. They always get big crowds for home games and have a lot of support within the community. The competition they face is tough. But seems to me there are a lot of plusses to make this job attractive.

I hope Linville doesn’t leave SI, but never can tell. He is doing a good at South Iredell. Hope he decides to stay on board with South.

Probably the biggest slam-dunk hire they could hope for would be Todd Willert. I'd also go hard for Rowan County AD Joe Nixon. I'll agree with Tripp Honeycutt at Walkertown, he'd be a good fit.

Thinking outside of the box, maybe Seth Baxter at SW Randolph, Josh Sophia at North Rowan, Brian Hinson at West Cabarrus, or Josh McGee at Reagan.

You think Willert is a viable option? That would be wild to imagine.

I don't think Todd Willert is looking to leave East Forsyth now, or in the next few years; but I'll say this.... money talks. Davie is their own autonomous school district independent from the big city and big county districts, and with one school, one booster base, one solid group of backers, they could put together the kind of compensation that a coach like Todd Willert deserves.

There is no reason why Davie couldn't put together a package that pays a top-tier head coach 100K+ and gives him the perks, tools, and ability to build a staff necessary to build a championship-caliber team.
