Yeah the first thing I said when I saw the schedule was "Ouch" That's a brutal start.. Polk County is young but I wouldn't overlook them .
I guess gives you some time in case the stadium isn't ready
Good point...It SHOULD be by then. Turf is suppose to be started on in about 2 or 3 weeks. I thought they were already suppose to have started. Was told that getting the final permits had to be done.. Field should look nice when completed. Was told Lincoln Charter backed out on us to play West Lincoln, the reason for the Polk County game.
Alexander Central put their turf in about 2 weeks before season last year so it don't take long
There is a large storm drain pipe goes directly under the field, turf going down and the track will be redone.. track getting done during the summer. Heard as a joke someone brought up the idea of an all Red field, similar to Boise State or Eastern Washington I think has that.. I'm like, funny but NO.

Turf is a sore spot for me. We should have had it when the new school open had it paid for no tax dollars all private funding. But everyone wanted to complain and from my understanding the leader of the complainers was Newton Conover. Going to hold that grudge till end of time
I personally Don't know. Could have been different Coach, or different athletic director at the time don't have an answer for you. Either way we are getting it this year, I guess to keep up with the times. Not sure about the flashing lights. Nthe lights were installed a few years ago. I understand flashing lights runs off a computer program that they haven't gotten yet. I'm ok either way when it comes to the lights though.
If I remember the story correctly bazzle threw a fit and Sharon Butler on the school board at the time. Just wanted a reason to stick it to Maiden and coach brown every chance she got.

LOL 👆...Big Red RKO, Now that's something to keep you up at night. May I explain, here: This guy hates every team other than his own. It would suit him if Maiden never lost and every team never won.
Reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode in the early 1960's: This gambler, Rocky Valentine, passes away. He wakes up at a casino where he's shown around by a man named Fats. Rocky gambles constantly and never loses. Finally this tedious routine of winning gets to him because he always knows the outcome, so he tells Fats, "I don't belong here, all the winning is getting to me. Maybe Heaven isn't for me and I belong in the other place." Fats tells him, "This is the other place ! "
Now, AMD would never understand why Rocky got tired it, not at all. If he were there and Fats asked him if the winning was getting to him because he knows how it's going to turn out, he would answer "Hell no, I love it !"
Look, I can say this with confidence, he DOES NOT hold a grudge against you (Meaning Newton-Conover, generally). It's just that he doesn't like you (Meaning every team). Just trying to help.
It's ok brother I take it with a grain of salt.. Hey even Newton Conover has some fans that think we are world beaters and their son are the best player on the team even though they never see a minute of playing time. It's all good. Ive met good Maiden fans and toxic ones even to their own team..

Only episode I remember from Twilight Zone was the infamous pig face party that one was creepy.
My favorite episodes were 1. Long Live Walter Jameson 2. Nothing in the dark...Really tweaks the imagination...
One of the better ones was with Meredith Burgess the old guy who just wanted to read. The world was coming to an end, and as I remember it he survived and he wore reading glasses couldn't see to read without them!! In the end he survives the end of times, but his glasses break and it ends without him being able to ever read again!! But some of the ones listed were pretty good too!!
Next thing you know Chopper will be in here reminiscing of times when his teeth were real and he had more hair on his head than in his ears and nostrils....
