However I find it extremely amusing that a county rival has to roll in the glory of something an outsider did because they can't do it themselves!
Burns football fans like their football program are truly pathetic, you are the NC State basketball of Cleveland county football. You backed into a championship years ago and now you suck and all you have to do now is piss and moaned about the glory of the other 2 power houses in the county!
You had a good thing going again and lost your coach or maybe he just seen the writing on the wall that he would be 3 place in a county of 4 most years and left idk but none the less your excitement over crest loss after 2 years really does show what the state of your football program really is!
Enjoy that basement you will be remaining in it for many years to come!

Backed into a state championship? Really? There were future professionals on that team. I wouldn't necessarily call that "backing in." And no, we don't have multiple state championships but to say our football program is pathetic, is ignorant. We've had some dang good teams in the past who could have easily won state championships but the ball just didn't bounce our way. Listen, Crest and Shelby have had a lot of success and are consistent year in and year out. I've got no issue admitting that. We just go through dry spells like most programs do in high school. Most of us don't have a say in the talent we get in year in and year out. But now that we have a coach who we all think will be here until the cows come home (or goats), I think stability is in the foreseeable future.
Our average record over the past 12 years is 8-4. Do you know how many teams would kill for that? And that includes a 1-10, 3-7, 4-6, and 6-7 year. Does this match up to Crest and Shelby? Not even close, but it is more respectable than you give us credit for.
You haven't won anything that really matters since 94 thsts 22 years ago let that sink in, and don't worry maybe we will lose again soon so you and the mouth breathers will have something to be happy about!
I was really expecting a better reply from Shelbyfan...honestly that was pretty lame. You say you don't get upset but you sure seem to be throwing the whole kitchen sink at us. Yeah we don't have the championships you guys have but we also don't get the luxury of our last 3 QBS being transfers either. I'm no hater, just call it what it is. We may never win a title again but at least we won't have asterisk next to us. Now realistically yall won't lose for a long time again this season, I don't bask in somebody else beating you guys, I bask in the fact that it's been a ghost town...fair weather I guess.
According to you, there's only 1 thing that matters, and that's a state championship. So no, we haven't won any of those, but we have won a lot of big games along the way and some conference championships. I never said we compared to your "Untouchable Chargers" (office staff excluded), but to say that Burns hasn't won anything that has mattered is insane.

Anybody remember the last time Burns was relevant ? I vaguely remember them having a coach that brought a little success. Nobody could not have a decent insult session with any other fan base. Some bulldog nut knat would try and turn the topic to Burns. Same situation now . Multiplied. Somebody please tell them. 1 win against homeschoolers . Does not equal success.

Most years . My goal is to go to a championship. All i want this year .Is a small 3a birth in the playoffs. The rest will take care of itself.
Honestly I think Rulz and other fans kinda got burned out on Crest. I mean you beat Shelby four years in a row. Win conference three years in a row. And win back to back undefeated state championships...really... What can beat that?

I don't think Burns "lost their coach". If you look closely on the sidelines, you'll see Coach Devine. Seems to me that Burns has found their coach.
JB is right. We had one coach bring excitement back but then he realized he had to follow rules and ran away. We got another coach that thought he could coach in the press box and now we found the right guy. I've met him once and I think we are good to go.
Totally agree maddog. Been watching practice and games for the better part of 4 years and this was the best summer so far. The kids were there alot more hours and held accountable when they missed. We have gone from one defensive ace to two and brought on another coach who knows offensive.
