Corvian?

Then why can't the state change those credentials?

One of the biggest improvements is giving schools the ability to handle discipline as needed. The state really handcuffs this and is threatening certain school districts funding over the amount of suspensions. Bad behavior staying in classrooms is a huge reason why many folks leave.

We have to pay teachers better to keep them in the classroom and find incentives for them. Schools need adequate teachers to limit class size. Especially in higher grades.

Schools need nurses, counselors, among other services to take those stresses off teachers and administrators. A teacher shouldn't be doing concussion evaluations when a kid bumps their head.

I appreciate your thoughts and think you have valid points in your other post above your reply to me.
I know you won’t like this but bureaucratic inertia is a big part of it. I’m as serious as I can be about this. “But we’ve always done it this way” is one of the hardest things for reformers to overcome. You can change the laws in Raleigh or Washington but that doesn’t change the mindset or practices of managers or hiring directors at the local level. They’ll default to “this is how we’ve done it for years and I know what to do” as opposed to “this is something new and I don’t want to take a chance of making a mistake”. I’ve seen it lots of times which is why I keep harping on doing things that operate outside the established bureaucracy.

You guys can dance around this issue all you want but people know why the state GOP is wanting more and more charter schools. It's all about getting God back into the schools. There is no place for religion in our public schools. Any religion.

I actually don't disagree with you

I think we all need God in everything. I feel sad for you!!!!!
I agree Buzz. But I certainly don’t want any school, traditional public, charter or private, in charge of my children or grandchildren’s religious instruction. Talk about parental choice! What could be more personal than that? And whether I agree or not, it’s not my place (or anybody else’s) to judge other people’s religious choices.

Thank you!

Yet that’s an expense not required of charter schools.

So as we've mentioned which demographics would suffer by not having transportation to school?

We should also mention that private schools don't have to follow federal law, so that's Title IX, ADA, etc. Yet folks can't understand the dangers of pushing to hurt public schools and end the DOE.

If it hasn't struck Mar-a-Lago or Matt Gaetz's house yet, it isn't going to strike a candy store that doesn't exist anymore. You'll really lose it when you find out it's a tattoo shop now.
Good ill force him to tattoo a Mt airy logo on my arm he does what he's told if he gets paid christ sakes

I have a sneaky suspicion they would deny you service and it wouldn't be Pryles denying the service if you haven't figured it out yet.

asking for a friend… how did that meeting with Mitchell vs Corvian go? Seems a lot of people forgot what they said about what Mitchell was gonna do to them. Including Roughtrader..and others..ER has a great team.. but i have been telling people all along.. do not sleep on this Corvian team… and.. they are putting bad teams to sleep.. including Mitchell.. whom so many people actually thought had a chance to beat them.. but couldn’t even score on them..🥶Good luck to TWO GREAT TEAMS tonight.

No one around here takes anyone for granted, especially in the third round of the playoffs. From the few interactions I have with coaches I know they are preparing the Wildcats to meet an undefeated opponent.
Who will win?
Who knows?
Find out in about 12 hours 👍

On the contrary I just said I hope Mitchell ran it down their throat. I didn't say they were going to do anything to them Mitchell's obviously not very good. But corvian is really good. I think that whole Charlotte league is very good when they play amongst themselves. And pretty good when they go and play some average teams but let's face it first two rounds of these playoffs what you won't have next year. They're mostly crappy. This should really be the first round. All of those teams if you let them get rolling they're pretty good because that's how they run. I heard it was the same thing with mountain Island against Mount Airy. Mount Airy is cruising along and dominating. And then decides to be the same pretty poor offensive team they've been all year as far as doing stuff they shouldn't be doing. Lo and behold that's it. Do realize from looking at the box score that mountain Island beat Mount Airy 14 to 0 in the second half correct? So I don't think anybody's taking corvian that lightly. They just need to get a taste of some physicality. Eastern Randolph will do that for them. They may still win. Then they'll get some more next week whether it's Mount Airy or starmount
