I have said many times that Corvian won and it was due to several factors, including those three fumbles. The stats for game were extremely close except for turnovers which led to Corvian scores and ER not scoring. As many who have watched that game, either in person or on video, have said Eastern Randolph beat themselves with those turnovers.
Now stop laughing at every post I make and concentrate on supporting your “had to show them how to put on pads” team’s next opponent. You don’t want to start a war of words with a supporter of a team you have beaten. Trust me there’s a good possibility you wouldn’t like that outcome.

Heritage special teams do have dangerous return men too. Cason Jones has taken back some for TDs. I don't think it's that big of a deal honestly. I have watched all of their playoff runs and it's never been the main reason they lost.

Only thing is will they get the chance to run a kickoff back. Covarin has 96 kickoffs 81 touchbacks that's a little over 84% of the time it's going into the end zone. I still think if you have an iffy kickoff team going against a fast team on kickoff returns while my kickoff return team isn't getting a chance to return kicks I'd just kick it out of bounds.
Better to give a 15 yard edge than a 20-30 yard edge.

Win lose or draw the next two weeks I think this team and that 2017 team might be the the best two teams that Heritage has ever had, 2008, 2009 and 2018 were all special teams but this team and 2017 were the best, Heritage has been on a special run for the last 16 years under coach Robbinson I'm not sure how we'll fair after he's gone, I mean for all I know he'll be coaching when he's seventy but I'd say this is the best chance we have to win a state title for the next several years

Got to put the Covid year state runner up team with Hall in this conversation as well. I agree the 2017 team was the best to come through Heritage. 2018 I believe may have been 2nd best. Toss up between them in 2009. This team is very well disciplined but just don’t have what those teams did in the trenches. Coach Robinson has built a winning program here for sure.

2018 is debatable. That 2018 Tarboro team would’ve been hard to beat. That was arguably one of Tarboros best teams ever that won it that year in 1AA.

Heritage would have had a good shot to make the 1aa title game 15-18, 2017 would be the only team I would put money on to win it. Albemarle was pretty dang good back in 2009, I think we were probably better than Swain and Murphy that year and they both played Albemarle's butts off but Albemarle also beat West Montgomery 31-0 who beat Hendersonville and Hendersonville beat us so who knows. We might of had a chance in 2010 to win it all in 1aa as they were no super dominant teams some years it's just the luck of the draw, small 1a is a different story but we weren't close to having those numbers.

Heritage wouldn't have beat Tarboro in '18 (or '17). Tarboro defense was lights out both years, especially against the run, I don't think their starting D gave up more than 7 points against anyone either season besides one game and they played a couple of real good football teams in that span.

CalPreps has it Tarboro 38 - Heritage 21 on a neutral field in '18, Tarboro 31 - Heritage 22 on a neutral field in '17, but I think both would've been lower scoring games than that.

2009 would've been a lot more interesting, Heritage and Albemarle would've been a hell of a game, both teams were very big and physical. CalPreps has Albemarle favored by 3 but I think Heritage with that huge line that season probably gets it done.

While I agree as far as hiring coach Pittman at Mitchell instead of going after Joey in between coaches when he was already at Mtn Heritage was a good decision , but Mitchell did in my opinion really mess up when Riddle left and here you had Joey on staff but instead of moving him up to head coach they got that Tom whatever who was terrible.
And just my opinion but I believe if Mitchell had promoted Joey instead back then that Mitchell would have had at least one championship having him that many years.

Everyone seems super cool on here, for it to be an opinionated forum (some folks are crazy out here! lol), but there a lot of “upsettness” 😂😂 over stuff no one can control but the kids playing a kids game and maybe a coach or 2. Rent free? No. We won this year. I can talk crap until the next year! How’s does that statement make you mad? Joey is the best coach in wnc…and he’s from Mitchell County ? You could have had him. Look at the head to head record Joey vs Mitchell. It’s not even close. It’s not that yall haven’t had good teams, Joey just a much better coach. Don’t hate !

The fact the matter is this might be the last best chance for Heritage to win a state title with them moving back up next year. Mitchell may not have another shot for a long time either. You have to take these chances when you can but appreciate them when they come, especially for mountain/foothills teams. McDowell made the elite 8 in 4A boys basketball back in 2007 and haven't even sniffed that since and probably never will.

2017 would’ve been hell of a game. Also forgetting about the 2015 team that whooped a Mitchell team that went to the 1AA state title game and lost to WRH.
