Football the week of Thanksgiving. The time of year that its starting to get serious. Theres nothing I loathe more than running into a charter school outside a large population center playing in 1A along the way. Make no mistake this will be no easy task for ER. Corvian comes in undefeated outscoring their opponents 552 to 88. They beat Mount Island Charter 41-7 which is more impressive than Mt Airy was even able to pull off. They run a wide open foot on the gas spread no huddle offense (think Oregon Ducks with Chip Kelly at the helm). On defense they play down hill bringing the heat every play and forcing the QB to make quick decisions. #10 Cam Johnson at RB averages over 100 per game and over 6 yards a carry. AJ Jackson at QB has 1100 yards passing on the year with 66% completion and 15td to 4 ints. On defense you're looking at row of guys all over 6'3 and 200 lbs. #8 Adrian Scott at 6'5 215 really looks stout playing DE with 20 of his 39 tackles on the year being for a loss.

ER will do their best to limp some guys out there and keep it competitive. Not sure the field can hold out for another week anyway. Besides we're kind of a basketball school now and the coach is getting a little antsy waiting for his guys to be available. On the flip side I think this may be Corvians first opportunity to get hit in the mouth playing in the mud and get their uniforms dirty. We'll see how they respond to a little adversity. Its the week of Thanksgiving and teenagers attention span could be all over the place on both sides trying to keep it together this week. All the best to Corvian as they travel down in their private jets and helicopters. Sure is nice not having to leave but an hour before gametime.

Look at you. Beating Chute to the punch and everything…
👏👏
Private jets?
Guess they could land in the pasture beside school. If you hear from Corvian tell them I’ll help put the cows up…

Helicopters? I didn't realize Larry Fedora was coaching Corvian.

Gotta say......

This Corvian team really intrigues me. Yes, they've played teams with less-than-stellar records. However, they did wear out a CS of Davidson team that's still alive in the 2A ranks. They do appear to be fast and athletic as a whole. Cam Johnson looks really impressive.

Corvian reminds me of 2021 Mount Airy. In the sense that.......they've steamrolled the vast majority of their opponents, but it looks like they've faced little to no adversity. How will the Cards respond if ER goes ahead by a couple of scores? I do see that they had trouble with CTK. I wonder what CTK did that other teams couldn't.

I think this game could end up being a lot like the Thomasville game last year. I know it's cliche......but I think this one will be won in the trenches.

It’s tough to compete when ER is dealing with injuries and a depleted roster. The mud may force Corvian to confront a different type of game. This might be their first real test. It will be interesting how they respond.

ER FB TEAM got a glimps at a game I believe it was versus east Wilkes ? Anyhow BEAST of a D efensive line some BIG MEN especially #51 brute but ,CORVIAN FB TEAM is not lacking size and speed be a tough game ,maybe low score..ER 27-20.

LUCAS SMITH IS A BEAST as is the D LINE ! Love the game not much of a team fan but you got to love a player that gives his ALL! Goodluck to both teams.

We knew this was going to be quite the challenge. Corvian has the speed and the athleticism to get it done in 1A. I’ve felt all year long ER was playing better than expected and beyond their means. They’re very young and inexperienced and tonight that came out especially in the first half. They aren’t built to come back from behind and needed to cash in on those early possessions in the red zone rather than fumble them away. They had quite a good season for a rebuilding type year. Good luck to Corvian next week. We are off to the bottom of the barrel in 3A land. But for the first time since we’ve been in 1A I must pull for my public school brethren. Go Mt Airy.

Good Run ER…Great Team and Athletes perennially. I felt Corvian would give you and every team in 1a fits. Again I’m sticking to my guns. Athletes are athletes and you play who is on the schedule. Just make sure you recognize talent and don’t down play them based on weakness or strength of schedule.. or you will go fishing. This sounded like a great game. This isn’t directed at ER at all… but those who read it and take it to heart will realize and will know i told them so.. as they are the same ones who tried to clown when i mentioned Basketball and Corvian…now I’m mentioning football and Corvian..and I probably won’t hear anymore laughing..🤔

Honestly kingbluedevil know one up here knows anything about them but we'll play them and give our best shot I've heard this team pulls athletes out of mallard creek so we will see if and what they have 7 pm next Friday all I can say bring there big boy pants

You were right about that field… dang!!

Corvian's victory over Eastern Randolph was a testament to their hard work and determination. As mentioned by previous posters on here, the way you guys forced ER to adapt to the challenging conditions was impressive. It showcased you'll strategic planning and physical endurance.

The defense specifically was relentless, making crucial tackles that not only disrupted ER's rhythm but also boosted Corvian's morale. Additionally, the offensive line held strong, allowing your playmakers to take advantage of the muddy terrain, which is no easy feat. It really was a game where every player contributed to the win, demonstrating the power of teamwork and resilience.
