Not many OC guys around here getting much love. The nne that I have heard mentioned has been a young guy ( like 25-26 years old) who was at Glenn and is now at Northern or Northwest Guilford as the OC...Cant remember his name. Just know hes a Kevin Wallace protege and we had Kevin at West Forsyth for a short time and he was brilliant.
The young mans name is Tripp Honeycutt. My son plays for NG currently and has told me numerous times how great of a coach he is ( best of staff in my eyes). Lucky to have him for now, but i know his name has to be in for bigger OC jobs and potentially a HC job if a school is willing to go to a young guy. Very Smart coach.
I think Coach Beal at EF is a great Coordinator and will be a HC soon. I think he's just waiting for the right opportunity. Talking to coaches in the area that have said he was considered for several HC jobs last year and turned them all down. Some people have said he's staying at East Forsyth until 4 Star Safety Khalid Martin graduates. It will be interesting to see if any schools make a run at him. I do know NWG went after Wallace and Coach Beal last year. Ive also heard he could be a top candidate for the Mooresville job.
I haven't spoken to him lately but, I imagine he would take a year or two off to recharge his batteries and maybe coach his youngest boy's rec. team just to have a little fun. He's very family centered so i'm sure there are ways to fill his time.
