Lake Norman 7-2 at Mooresville 8-1

Effectively the conference championship game this Friday at Mooresville. A MVL win, and the Blue Devils win outright. A LKN win, and they tie, with LKN obviously winning the head to head.

So a lot to be decided this week at The Popp.


Obviously a massive crowd will be there, so the environment will be nuts. What yall thinking?

Mooresville leads the all time series I believe 16-6 - 14-6 since 2004 ; Mooresville has won 3 straight games

LN must play better than they did last week vs South Iredell. I feel like If LN struggled with a south they will struggle with Mooresville.

LN doesn’t ever give up ever n we have this like 2-3 times we seen them down 14-21 + and win. LN has some great talent but Mooresville is just another level imo

Should be a good one. I have it 42-17 but I can see a 35-21 type of game. Coach Jonathan Oliphant understands this game more then anyone so he will have LN ready but they must execute and play better then what they did vs south iredell

The 3-peat was completed! Mooresville gets a INT to go up 35-20 and Mooresville D handled the rest! Mooresville forced Kaden to be off and Got sacked a handful of times!

Kaden Craft will be special if he stick with football. He made some good throws and made some nice attempt when under pressure but he is only a Freshmen n only 14 so. He has a bright future

Also Mozes Morris is a Dawg ; He didn’t do a lot vs Mooresville but He did fight for every yard and he was tough tonight!

Also #10 I believe his Noah Jacobsen he scored his first varsity TD vs Mooresville for the wildcats

Brody Norman, J-Man McCombs, Gavin Barber and Dominic Morin all contributed to the Blue Devils offense which included I believe a 45 yard TD pass to Barber! Barber is a mini George Kittle - The kid can do it all!

not our finest game…. Sloppy play all around, especially the first half. If we play like that in the playoffs we will get cooked.

That’s being being said, always nice to three peat a conference. Thought our DL were the MVPs last night, think they had a combined 6 or 7 sacks.

Now we wait for the playoffs. Latest projection has us hosting South Iredell round 1.

Good win for Mooresville. Game turned out about what I thought. Mooresville is definitely the team of the conference. Close 1st half but then showcased who they really are in the 2nd half. Mistakes from Mooresville help contribute to couple scores for Lake Norman in 1st half. That being said the freshmen QB for Lake Norman will be the player to watch when he is a Jr and Sr. That is if he continues to play at QB. He could be like another Josh Ladowski.

The way they turned it around in the second half really showcased their depth and talent. It’s true that the first half had its ups and downs, particularly with the mistakes that allowed Lake Norman to capitalize on some opportunities. These types of errors can be crucial in a tightly contested match, but Mooresville's ability to regroup speaks volumes about their coaching and experience.

The LN QB showed flashes of potential that could develop into something special if he continues to progress, much like Josh Ladowski did during his time. If he can maintain his confidence and refine his skills over the next couple of years, he could become a formidable player in the league. It will be interesting to see how Lake Norman adjusts their strategy around him as he matures.
