Seriously though the chances of them playing are smaller than them not playing. Clinton and WRH would go 5-5 if they played each other 10 times. Throw in a random team like SWO just to screw things up and making it out of the East will be no picnic

Were playing James Kenan this week thats all we worried about
Not to sure why this is even a topic...being realistic Shelby would beat us by 14-21 just being honest....but like i said above we focused on James Kenan...why are we doing hypothetical threads when you have real actual games to talk about?
Shelby probably going A since Burns and a few other schools are playing down to 2A this year.
1997 still gives me nightmares. One of, if not, the best Shelby team ever. 14-0 going into the 'ship with Willie Parker and Clinton. We shouldn't have spent the night the night before plus the 11AM game. Man, would love to have that one back.

They will beat JK by 40+. SWO has had new guys come in, changed a few positions. SWO might easily play in the Eastern finale vs WRH and pay them back for early this year

So true. I was really hoping ya'll made it to the playoffs and we could meet once again. BUT NOOOOOOOO. Maybe next year.
All I said was Clinton vs Shelby would be good game based on past playoffs. Shelby has best tradition in high school football, but Shelby fans think no one can play with them. Clinton no push over,or WRH or SWO. Phil Padgett got that butt one time when he was coach at SWO. No 4 A school wants Shelby in regular season. Who do u Shelby fans want to play,don't say Anyone. Give a team from East.
That would be great. We need to replace WhiteOak. Dont need any pushovers on non-conference schedule. Hope ya'all get better soon, I really do.
I haven’t seen any poster from Shelby post, “no one can play with us”. Last I checked, we have a hot L on our record this season. You’ve hardly even seen any Shelby threads this season, period. The past two weeks are the most I’ve seen in awhile with the talk of ADMS/playoffs heating up.
The legendary 98 State Champ ain’t on here nearly as much as he used to be, not even half as much, the rest of the crew are older, and dare I say, more humble guys now. 5 out of 6 state championships will get you respected, recognized, and talked about by posters from other programs, which is a good thing.
I would absolutely love to see our old friends from Clinton or SWO again for the rubber matches, the still relatively new kids on the block in 2A, WRH. I would love to see Northeastern, too, two programs we have never played. Obviously, if we are playing either of you guys, we are in the state championship. Everyone has to get there first. In the meantime, there’s still a lot of football to be played.

You must have on your Shelby blinders. Plenty of times I have seen "we are unstoppable" type posts from Shelby supporters and lovers.
Maybe, every program has a couple of those posters, though, and I have definitely been that poster, myself, in the past. I just saw a WRH poster post days ago that WRH, along with Clinton, might be the best two teams in all of 2A, yet, the Bulldogs took another L last night from a 2A team.
I’ve seen very few Shelby threads all season, though. All I will say, though, “If you come for the king, you best not miss”, your team doesn’t bring its A game, it can be blown off the field, period. Shelby is in peak form now. That’s just a fact.

Thats part of the reason why i didnt even like seeing this thread made...obviously whoever made this isnt a Clinton poster....we got alot of football left to play we taking it one game at a time and if we do get to that point where we are playing a Shelby or a Reidsville we going to have our hands full....but for right now we concerned about Midway and finishing up this regular season strong
The east is up for grabs, NE poster feeling like getting there QB back could change everything. They were playing lights out with him. WRH is a head scratcher, played Wake Forest as well as anyone in 2a would/could but have not looked good sense. SWO is steam rolling cupcakes, but history makes them a hard out in the playoffs at home. Clinton prolly should be favorites, but they may have to go through all three of these teams to make it to the big game. Playoffs in 2a east will be interesting for sure.
With all the excitement in 2a east I have not paid attention to West, but if Shelby brings there usual team to championship game, they will win easily.

I don't even like them and I have not seen the 'we're unstoppable' posts. Only saw Seadog(a SOUTHPOINT fan) post that as a joke and he does that to a few teams in 2A and 3A. I partially think he does that to jinx teams. Alot posters from that area post about the region haveing the best teams/programs which is backed up by title wins.
Unless you're referring to 98 Champions who hasn't posted alot in 2 seasons.
Maybe they were trying to jinx your team by creating this post. I've seen this strategy before.
We realize this site is nothing like it used to be when we were hitting it up daily with facts, statistics, and corrections of other's inaccuracies. We read it everyday but only post when it's worth our time. Love your material though chopper...keep it up...will you be here all week?

This was on a 4A post and Shelby fans were wanting some 4A games,but none would schedule. They were saying they could play with anyone. Just saying. All I SAID WAS THIS WOULD BE A GOOD GAME. Clinton playing good ball right now and will be #1 in East.
I've seen Shelby over the years. My son played for Whiteville. We went to Black Mountain in I believe 2002 or 03 to play Owens the #1 team in state,beat them there,guess who next Shelby. It was a good game and we list by 3. Shelby had a kicker that could kick FG 50 yards and I kid you not,very good. You got a beautiful stdium there and love the atmosphere there. I would like to know if that kicker went on to play college ball. He was best I've seen.
Those fans are not honest. Shelby has ducked chances to scheudle 4A from Meck Cty for a while. I only give them credit for the RHSP game in South Carolina. They've had more than enough chances to schedule Mallard Creek or Vance. They never really wanted those challenges, just the illusion of them. They will schedule a weak Hopewell or some weak Mtn 4A(or what used to be) and the fans will scream "4A can't handle us", but they know the truth
