Home opener for Clinton this Friday as they will welcome 1,000 fans into the stadium tickets on sale at www.gofan.co

Old rivalry game from the mid 2000's these two teams have had some classic match ups dating back to 2005. Always a good one when these two hook up glad we continue to keep them on the schedule. Last seasons 28-14 victory for Clinton was somewhat of a turning point for the Horses.

Monarchs come into this one after a tough double overtime lost to Goldsboro 20-19 Friday. Clinton is coming off a 33-27 win at Anson last Thursday. As always i expect Northside to have some good size and athletes. Coach Pollock will have his team well prepared and eager to get that first win of the season. For Clinton just looking to continue to improve on what we saw Thursday. Continue to be balanced on offense something we are not use to round here but we will take it especially if it loosens up the box for #22 to have big gains. On defense just continue to flow to the ball tackle well and space and contain those edges. Im sure Coach Johnson and Grady etc will have the boys well prepared and ready to go

No score prediction for me. Just looking forward to watching the game hopefully good showing and a nice crowd Friday hear the weather should be good.

You can bet NS will ramp it up for the Darkhorses. Clinton looked in good form Thursday. I expect it to go the full 10 rounds with a bunch of smashmouth on both sides. Again good luck to the Other horses and since SWO will kickoff at 6:30 I can tune in for probably about 1st qtr.

GOOOOOOOOOOOO DARKHORSES

Will be a blast to be back in Dark Horse stadium. For all those watching at home like 34 said, our play by play audio will be synced with the video on the NFHS network so it’ll be just like an ESPN broadcast but with real announcers. Just kidding. LoL

If clinton is as good as yall think. Should win this game by 21

Goldsboro look small and not very good

Northside looked LOST all night long. Northside has multiple d1 recruits all over the field. Just not sure what's going on over there with Pollock. Qb looked confused, line looked smaller then usually NS line.

Good luck to the horses

What's up with the field? All dead grass lol? Clinton must be hurting for money.

Swo field looks like a bright green turf field when I drove by Friday lol

Clinton’s field is Bermuda. Bermuda grass goes dormant during the winter months, so that why’s it looks dead as you say, but I’m sure you already knew that. That’s what I like about you, your attention to detail.

You got to be kidding talking up the field at SWO. Grass is as slick as a babies behind all year. Give me bermuda any day of the week. Played there in the playoffs a couple of years ago and it was a quagmire. Yes I know, you picked up limbs, pulled roots and who knows what else there in 1975 but the playing surfaces at Legion and Clinton are much better.

Do yourself a favor start paying attention to the details before assuming. Shouldnt have to be having this conversation with ya every week tighten up big guy. If the Clinton staff needs your grass expertise im sure they will reach out. Good talk

Young buck, calm down. You need to tighten yourself up, stop worrying about me. Told you this already legend

Swo seems to have zero problems lol. You guys cry about everything.

Still is a quagmire anyway you look at it. Kept to your style of football. Nothing wrong with it but sure don't like all the speed gone from a field

Lol Only teams ever to be successful at swo used speeeeeeeeed all night long..... and won multiple titles doing it. Every title team had 4 or 5 blazers. But say what you want.

Good luck to Clinton this friday. Should be a better game outta them

IMO and I can’t speak for the other guys but this to me isn’t a nit pick over field turf or conditions. I was merely responding to the poster that thought our field looked like “dead grass” and that we “must be hurting for money”. Every time I’ve been to SWO field has looked fine. The same can’t be said for all the fields I’ve seen, but with the rain we’ve had and it being a winter season, fields won’t last the whole season. They also will need some serious off-season TLC. Most grass used for fields in the south (Bermuda) isn’t meant to be played on during the winter. Unless you overseed with rye like I did for my yard this winter it’ll be golden brown.

Seems Northside got bit by the turnover bug a week ago reading a article today they fumbled 6 times losing 3 and threw a INT. Not sure how much the weather played into it but hard to beat anybody when you turnover that much. Chalk it up to first game jitters i expect to see a competitive Monarch team this evening. Clinton better not come out sleep walking.

And any Clinton fans interested Ryheem Skinner is still trucking along at Tarleton. 197 yards and a TD last Saturday. Im curious if he will take advantage of the extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA guys at smaller schools that are playing this spring are kinda in a tough spot. His season ends April 1 and the NFL draft is April 29th not sure if he would get a opportunity to participate in a pro day.

Its the finest Bermuda turf you can get thats dormant in winter. Its still winter . Maybe by season.s end it will be green. Opposite from regular seasons, Turtle back field. Automatic watering system- believe me its nice but ironically right now it looks like school colors of black & gold
