Not sure the details but thats all i seen on FB this morning....sad news she was definitely a legend in Sampson County
Not sure the 2A title game is scheduled for 11 am the next day at NC State...i guess it would depend on how the Coaches feel and of course the player himself.....he is one of their best players
I’m going to go with him not playing then. He isn’t a key piece to beating JK
Anyone hear anything about Jalen Smith's status?...played a couple snaps last Friday scored a TD and that was it.....Does Coach rest him thinking maybe we dont need him or play him.....honestly we proved Friday we can beat them without him but different week different game.....tough decision its the playoffs its win or go home.....if he is healthy i think he plays....
I think he dresses, but not used unless needed. Kaba can kick EP. Several people can kick squib , pooch etc kickoff. If we NEED a 38-yard field goal as he kicked last week, he enters the game. Just my opinion.

Of course, JK will try to sell out on the run this time around and try to force Clinton to pass more, but I don't think they will be able to stop the Horses' rushing attack. On the other side, the Horses' secondary will have to stay with their receiver and not get sucked in by Avent's scrambling, as we were hurt twice by by leaving receivers wide open. If we improve in that area, the Tigers score less than 20 points.
Avent doesn’t scramble to run he scrambles to throw. Make someone get him down, stay with your man. If Avent beats us with his legs ok, just don’t get beat deep.
I expect Avent to have a much better game this week than last week. Clinton has the best pass rush we have seen, hopefully he took last week as a learning experience. I also think we all may be in for a surprise if #4 dresses out. We took East Bladen to the wire in the first round last year hopefully with that experience from
last year and familiarity with Clinton having just played last week we can give the Horses a good game.

I think Avent will abandon the pass more often in this game and try and pick up anything he can with the run.
Interested to see if we have a healthy #10....we ran the ball pretty well with him being limited last week....hopefully he a full go.....Evans statistically probably had a average game imagine if he didnt have 2 touchdowns took away for some questionable flags.....that first TD run he broke maybe 4 or 5 tackles before weaving his way into the endzone.....sadly caled back for a block in the back 30 yards behind the play supposedly
If i had to put a prediction on it for tomorrow ill say 35-17 Clinton.....its rough playing a conf foe first round especially after playing them a week ago but i think Coach Johnson has the boys ready and we come out on top....ill be listening from Maryland Friday Night.....hopefully Ayden-Griffon pulls off a upset over Kinston so we can get atleast one more home game
Seems like Clinton got some rythym on offense without 10 most of the game. They had none against ED. Still need him if y'all making run this year. Probably should hold him back this week
I’d say 35-17 is a pretty fair prediction based off of last week. Would love to see us win, would love to see a turnover free game. It will be better for the conference for Clinton to win this one (Clinton has a legit shot at Eastern Final) If by some miracle JK could win this I know we couldn’t get past Kinston. Would take something similar to a 83 Wolfpack team for JK to pull this off.
JK will lose a ton of Seniors after tomorrow night ... hoping for the best expecting the worst.
JK seems to thrive off the big play....limit those pressure the QB but at the sametime stay aware of #3 on draws and screen plays....DBs stick with the WR....win the turnover battle....offensively maintain drives run the ball dont be afraid to throw on 2nd and short etc....and limit the mental mistakes(penalties) basically my keys to winning for Clinton......my advice for every single player would be leave "last week" exactly where its at......this a new season
Kinston LoL is no where near Clinton. Kinston is super down this year. Clinton would beat them by 30
Saw on the other site some are unimpressed with the Darkhorses.....sorry but with all the factors we had to deal with this season New Coaching staff,injuries,3 really good players not being eligible to play i think we have done better than most would of expected...but hey what do i know.....would love for us to prove some more people wrong and make a run at State
Friday and Saturday pretty eventful for Clinton...obviously big first round playoff game vs JK Friday....Saturday you got the soccer team playing Newton-Canover for the 2A state title,Former Clinton RB Ryheem Skinner plays in his last JUCO game for Allan Hancock College in the Amercian Championship Bowl and of course sadly a very somber occasion the memorial service for Coach Karen Fox

another factor, the schedule of the season. Clinton did not play a down of football in the month of September. Continuity was tough.
Wasn’t aware that Kinston was down. I see they have won several close games. Usually the sign of a tough team.
Simmons has Clinton by 16, pretty accurate I believe. Interesting that he has South Granville by 14 over Goldsboro. Goldsboro is capable of winning that one.
Havent heard anything yet but has put together a impressive career at Hancock 1164 yards and 12 TDs so far this year to go along with the 700+ and 7 TDs he had as a freshman.....im sure someone going to offer him
With those numbers you would think so, he was overlooked in high school wasn’t he?
Overlooked is a understatement....2,000 yards as a sophomore & junior......5,780 yards combined during his 3 years on varsity with 65 TDs.....i heard he had some issues with grades maybe thats what held him back a bit but still with the numbers he put up i was surprised at the lack of interest
Looks like it will be a West coast school to recognize him if he gets offered.
Just a few hours away from potentially seeing a Avent in the pocket for the last time for a LONG time. Good luck to Clinton. Hoping for a clean tough game with zero injuries but most importantly hoping for a JK win.
