So i guess i can officially get this started right lol. First game of the Fall 2021 football season and home opener for the Darkhorses. We welcome a familiar foe former conference member Goldsboro to Darkhorse Stadium. A quick tale of the tape Clinton has won the last 4 match ups between the two dating back to 2017. Last season Clinton at Goldsboro 42-7. We know Goldsboro will have athletes and produce speed. Question can they hang with us in the trenches, I would guess no.
For Clinton you want to iron out those first game jitters limit penalties/turnovers take care of business early and get your starters out of there healthy. My opinion we should win comfortably atleast 21+. Should have a opportunity to get alot of guys some live action that we missed missing a scrimmage. Offense will put up numbers would like to see defense come out with a chip on their shoulders. Work on what we need to work on cause next week after its a whole different animal. But if course 1 game at a time and the most important game is the next one. Offense execute take care of the ball try and lessen those first game jitters/penalties. Defense contain and simply do your job be 1-0 for the week.
One thing we always forget preseason and early on special teams special teams special teams. New punter(hopefully we wint see him) and kicker(hopefully he is kicking lots of PATs lol) this season. I am excited abiut the protential of our return units we have some good athletes eager to see who is back there.
