Yes sir tired of watching grass grow on the weekend have you heard if there anybody joining the two

Also Lakewood fans get first look at their new head coach Barrett Sloan.....alot of new beginnings in Sampson County football

And Lakewood has one of the better RBs in the state with Jadon Smith had over 2,000 yards rushing last year so our defense is definitely going to get a good look

Well it looks like I won’t be able to attend. I now have a funeral to attend out of town Wednesday afternoon and probably won’t be able to get back in time. Will depend on listening to you guys 04 and feedback from my traveling partners and post on here to let me know about our DarkHorses Wednesday night but maybe i'll be able to see them Fruday pm

Wiz, we are not broadcasting the Lakewood scrimmage. Our first broadcast will be Friday for the Sampson County Jamboree.

I am sorry a friend passed. Prayers with the family and friends.

Thanks, there's an outside chance I'll get back but I'm not counting on it, 4 hours away and metro traffic. I'll see'em Friday though.

I am curious to see what these new coaches bring. Lakewood only returns 2 starters on offense from last years team but one happens to be #45 who broke the school record for rushing yards in a season last year. On defense they return 7 core players but I have heard they have been moved to different positions. The horses should be a good test to see where we stand so far early on.

Looking forward to it tonight saw some new names on a rough draft of the roster and some names missing unfortunately of course it was a rough draft.....interested to see who the starting QB and the main guys carrying the ball beside big boy Smith #10.....Kaba #3 was listed as a QB on that rough draft i saw....also saw big Jalen Oates is back playing good to see remember seeing him play JV ball in 2016 adds some much needed size to the line if he is out there

And i know we talked about the addition of Kaba to the defense and of course Sloan and Cruise but a guy i forgot to mention was Jatuyuhn Wilson #82 last season played some DE/OLB in limited reps had 49 tackles 1 sack and a couple.pass deflection plays with alot of energy reminds me of Chandler Whitfield from the 2013/2014 teams.....and going off the listed weight looks like he has bulked up a bit listed at 6'2 225 not sure if thats a typo think he is wearing #88 this season watch out for him

Looks like I'm going to make it after all! In Sanford now making good time! Looking forward to the scrimmage !

So im guessing they only playing on half the field?....only one side of the field is painted

I mention earlier in the summer about Knowledge possible playing some QB aswell like he did on JV....Looks like him and Kaba are going to be the ones under center..

Defensively look good front 7 strong fast to the ball....Kaba #3 Wilson #88 looking good as predicted.....offensively first team looked good Jalen Smith had big run on the first play of the scrimmage both QBs can run......Coach Johnson and staff loud and enthusiastic definitely a different feel to the sideline

Looks like a weather delay....but to start the 2nd half session Clinton defense cause and recovered a fumble and then offense drove down the field with some nice runs by Evans before Smith punched it in

I’m liking the enthusiasm from the coaching staff! That enthusiasm is going to rub off on the players.

Clinton started out strong but kind of fizzled after that thought there defense looked really good. Lakewood has a lot of work to do. Just for curiosity who was the loser that pulled up on the Tahoe at the fence like he owned the place

He has had some health issues im sure they asked permission first

One concern for the offense and i know its early so no big deal now but who is going to be that other playmaker in the backfield besides Jalen Smith....Smith for his size has a good turn of speed once he gets going but he is not normally tha type of back thats gonna rip off a 50+ yarder especially against the more athletic defenses i.e(Wallace,East Duplin)...Kaba looked smooth running the ball from the QB position and threw a really nice pass to the corner of the endzone went straight threw the WRs hands....also hand a good look on a fade route as a WR just didnt get his feet down in bounds.......Evans had some nice runs scrambling

You are totally correct if that much yardage. Our coach was walking up and down fence line talking on a headset during a scrimmage while team was playing just so he could be seen. Love his dad being out there his son going to have to grow up. And let me rephrase this I I am THRILLED TOMMY Sloan is out there but they is a lot of work to do.

The horses were the far superior team. They wont get much of a challenge at the jamboree. Chalk them up for at least 10 wins this year. They are big fast and strong. I am hoping for Lakewoods sake that Clinton is just that good this year. Clinton kept it simple and ran it well...didn't see much confusion on their part.

As to Clinton winning only 4-5 games that may be 4-5 more than the Leopards though with that schedule 4-5 wins should be automatic. As to the Horses, we'll compare notes at season's end but, I think they may have 8 wins depending on how the offense develops maybe more, They may not be a state championship team this year (not saying it couldn't happen) but they will challenge and the future is bright for them. Good luck to Coach Johnson and the DarkHorses. Good luck to Coach Sloan and the Leopards.

And thats my main beef with our choices in preseason scrimmages nothing against the county schools but were not getting a good look to were we are as a team....i mean next week we play Cape Fear who is ranked like #13 or 14 in 3A thats a big jump from playing Midway and Hobbton....it is what it is tho....hope to see more consistency from the offense Friday...defense looked great would like to see how the secondary looks against down field pass didnt really see that tonight as Lakewood threw alot of screens

I know its only a scrimmage and you dont wanna show all your cards but wonder why Lakewood didnt try to work #45 more to the outside and off tackle he has the size and speed

Yeah i was just wondering they kept running him up the middle....that was a no go.....last season our power run defense was poor...was very pleased with the boys upfront yesterday on the first and second team defense hope to see more of that tomorrow and next Friday...Cape Fear still has that big back that cause us some problems last season

My assumption would be they are trying to get more people involved. You know what 45 will give you on friday nights but the other kids not so sure. I agree the front 7 for clinton was a lot better than last year. They dominated both sides of the ball.

Who do you guys like better at the QB spot @Wizard of the East @Darkhorse04 @speak-in-the-mic @FOOTBALLFANTIC....ima hold off my opinion till after the Jamboree so i can see em both more.....but i think i like Kaba to start....that kind of offense i think you want your absolute best athlete in control...Evans can be another RB and possibly that big play back we need back there opposite of Smith...just my opinion
