I wonder if Reidsville fans will whine and complain next year when they’re the smallest 4A school like some Robbinsville fans have the last 4 years.

I’m not whining, we’ve beat the brakes off of a ton of big schools dude! I’m just saying what if…We’re sick and tired of hearing our itty bitty titles don’t mean shit by schools twice our size that moving down is the only way they can win one! Not a knock on Tarboro at all, as they’ve won wherever they played, unlike others. Hell, I want to be 2A !! Bring it, we ain’t scared!
Every team should be proud of their achievements despite when they received them and I think everyone on here that is involved are proud of their schools’ history. I can be totally happy for every team that has been successful. Winning a championship is something special no matter your school’s classification.

What is really funny is that when I look at the rosters of the SMC schools that are in the final four in the West every year, those tiny SMC schools have always had about the same number of football players on their rosters as Mount Airy and other Western schools. Robbinsville & Murphy have high 30s and Mount Airy low 40s. There is only maybe a five or six-player difference. So how does a school of 350 ADM have as many football players as a school of 5 to 600? In the 1960s and 70s when Mount Airy was really 1A playing in 3A along with some other schools stuck in 3A, SMC would have won far fewer championships. We had no 1A teams in our area to play. Every year Mount Airy has beaten a SMC team. They have been a 1A in ADMs by the NCHSAA rules. The NCHSAA makes the ADM rules and playoff rules so stop your crying on here and take a ride to Chapel Hill. I have never seen SMC fans crying as much as this year.

Your argument of the teams having approximately the same numbers is an indictment of your school and praise for the schools of the SMC. Let me explain. A school system that has larger numbers of students should in essence have a larger number of players. But this isn't always the case, why? For some reason the SMC schools are fostering a program that is conducive to students wanting to be part of a program that demands sacrifice and requires discipline. What is it about these schools that enables them to prepare and inspire young men who are willing to meet these standards. Whatever it is, they are successful at a much higher rate than the schools of which you support. Would you not agree that the biggest reward for most HS football players is the character that they mold. Thanks for providing evidence for all to see.
Do the schools offer the same sports curriculum? I look up Robbinsville soccer on Maxpreps and can't find a player list for soccer. I am just wondering if the availability of the sporting activities affects the amount of players of certain sports. If some students perhaps weren't able to play soccer so they chose football for example. Would that not be the reason for a higher number of players in a certain sport like football say in a Robbinsville case?

Possibly, but I do know that in some instances that FB's numbers have increased as some kids play as kickers only.. also you have mentioned the only school that doesn't field a soccer team, in essence an outlier.

Totally off subject but since y’all are going for a 3 peat this year you might find this interesting. Alcoa,TN is going for its 10th straight state championship Friday at 11am. Alcoa enrollment is about the same as MA

I drove around their campus a couple weeks ago before meeting some friends to play golf and wow! What a setup they have!
But did Alcoa win state championships during the War of Northern Aggression?
TN does it by regions 1 thru 4 in the East. 5 thru 8 in the West. Top 4 in the conference make the playoffs. Region 1 and 2 battle it out to meet 3 and 4 to get to the state championship game. In the West it’s region 5 and region 6 then region 7 and region 8 play each other. Conference champ play the 4 place team in other region. 2nd place plays the 3rd place. Only bad thing about the way they do it some conferences only have 4 teams. So you could go 0-10 and still make the playoffs while some conferences have more teams with a better record as a 5th place team.
I think you can petition to play up in TN too. I heard some schools go up so they don’t have to play Alcoa. Which I think Alcoa is finally going up after this season.
Yes Alcoa as 3a enrollment 677 kids but asked to move up to 4a next year

WE WOULD! The turn out is amazing for how little these schools are, these groups have grown up watching state championship after state championship. Most their brothers/sisters have won a title here in the smc. It’s a cycle of hardnosed disciplined football. You have more kids, that is a fact. We put out equal numbers due to the continued willingness from kids in our community’s to withhold the standard of playing football in the Smokey mountain conference.
I’m interested in their game Friday. Westview as a Freshman QB Graham Simpson who is really good. Dad is the coach of UT Martin. Brother Ty is Bama backup and was a 5 star QB out of high school
Well.can't my point is if you have the same number out for football as a larger school, you should not be on here whining about the larger schools in the playoffs if you have the same numbers playing as other schools with larger ADMs. But you get on here and brag when you beat 3A or 4A schools from down that way and say you can't get anyone to play y'all. Some posters from the SMC have said that over the years.
And your point is illogical and self serving. You don't have any validity and your are not wanting to accept it because it does not fit your fairytale. No one brags or whines more than you.
