They will the run the show for the next few years at the 6A level. They should move Catholic and Gibbons to 7A.

I think Catholic has some competition on the west side. Ashbrook, Dudley (depending on how they do east and west, and Kings Mountain could be some show stoppers.
They should be moved to 8A. Better yet, the NCHSAA should kick out the private schools. The private school parents CHOOSE to spend big money so their kids DON’T HAVE TO GO to public schools yet they damn sure want their privileged kids to get to play the public schools in athletics. After all, their kids should have the best of everything. Go check out the facility discrepancies between the public and private schools. The coaching supplements. The trainers, orthopedic doctors, and strength coaches. Their buses. Their uniforms. Their lack of diversity as their teams pose with state championship trophy after trophy. I could go on and on. It is a total mismatch. A total uneven playing field that allows wealthy parents to buy championships. Yet, for a token fee, the NCHSAA allows this to happen. By the way, this is not a shot at the NCHSAA staff but rather the public school members of the NCHSAA who can vote to end this craziness.
Oh, and the private schools MUST recruit to get student athletes who would have otherwise gone to a public school whereas the public schools CAN’T recruit by rule. Again, one must recruit and one can’t recruit yet they compete for championships against each other. How in the hell does that make sense?
CG and CC will completely own 6A in most, if not all, sports.
