After two winnable loses to Statesville and Asheville, Carver has got back to it's winning ways with 3 in a row and only allowing 7 points a game. The Carver, West Stokes game has become the game for Conference bragging rights. This should be a close one but I give Carver the slight edge with defense and skill players. Thoughts?

West has the most talent and speed sense 2011 but will have to play mistake free to have a chance against Carver.
West hasn't really played anyone besides East Surry either, Carver has seen a lot of competition this year.
Mt Tabor is the only good team Carver has beat. Carver will be favored but expect a good game.
Carver has chinks in the armor and if West is as good as they say they are they can beat them if they figure it out and attack.
Their QB play will be a possible detriment. Coach's son got injured against us and never came back and he didn't play last week. The kid who replaced him against Forbush didn't face a challenge from them so this will be his first real test if the starter is done. Crowell likes to pass so if the QB isn't playing well that offense isn't as split-dimensional. Carver is really fast this year and that's about their biggest strength. No one in the conference is that fast. West is't as big as in the past on the line but they have decent speed more than usual.
Carver should win but if they overlook West they could stay in it.

I was at a conference Carver game and someone said "Hang on to him". My thoughts were you have to catch him to hold on to him.
I don't think West can come out slow against Carver like they did North Surry and have a chance. Both teams have a lot of experience.
Final West Stokes 21 Carver 20. West completes pass in the end zone 4th down under 2 min to go in the game. The ball went through a defenders hand. West running back went out early with a knee injury but other players stepped up. Both teams played hard.
Good game West, I had a feeling that missed 2 pt would come back to bite us. Welp that's really going to hurt us seeding wise. That sounds reminiscent of those Carver Concord semi final games back in the day...dang im getting old haha
West is a solid club, I feel like we should've won this game but it slipped through our fingers literally. Its pretty much us and west every year for Conference, like us and Andrews were in the Pac6. I think well still make some noise come playoffs, I dont think were 100% right now. Crowell is a lil banged up, we can make a run if the boys put their minds to it.
I think if Carver could get their running game going they would be hard to stop. Outside of two or three plays they were stopped for little or no gain. They have a huge offensive line.
Carver stats were 33 carries for 32 yards and 11 for 24 passing for 131 yards and 1 TD. West had 35 carries for 141 yards and 12 for 27 for 187 yads and 2 TD's. So total yards Carver 163 West 328. West starting Tailback left the 1st play of the 2nd quarter and did not return. The game really was not that close West should have won by 2 TD's. West also had 4 turnovers to zero by Carver.

Agreed on that, carver not having a running game is strange. Carver is traditionally known for run game and defense. I hope they get it together for playoff time.
