Kick off to playoffs Is approaching fast, im excited being that its Brevards first home playoff game in years. Does anyone know about Carver? I do know they played one wnc team against Asheville which they lost 34-12

It'll be good one, should be the first team that Brevard faces with a little speed, but Brevard has some as well, anchor by a veteran QB in Ellenberger backed up by a defense that's been solid last few games. I say Brevard by 7 as well.
I've actually just check their schdule on max preps and there they've played some tough competition in dudley and etc.
All of our losses with the exception of one came against 3A and 4A opponents. It's no secret we're athletic and like to be physical on defense as our nonconference schedule prepared us for. We've been watching film and not sure about the athletes Devilbaker is talking about however we expect a prepared and confident Brevard team as 9-2 will make you feel. Didn't two of Brevards wins come against 1A opponents?
Yea against Rosman and Andrews, they have losses to Tuscola (42-7), and blew a 34-17 halftime lead to Madison (47-44) which they lost in the final 3 seconds, they have a athlete in Williams #2 and the Pressley kid #5 if he can get in space. The defense been carrying them here recently.
Little speed does not describe what will hit the field on Friday. Carver is very athletic and fast.
I like the way our team has progressed this year. This has been anything but a typical year for Carver. We have faced some systematic challenges from our school system and it has started to drastically effect our football team. We always play a tough schedule and thats one of the pluses of being in a big city but this year we started off the season without a jv team and only 22 players for varsity which is unheard of for Carver. However when school started we were able to field a jv and get some kids out for football that in turn helped the entire program. Our coaches did a great job of figuring things out cause we've had numerous position changes that has helped us peak at the right time!! We also had some talented kids removed from the team and it has helped with team chemistry and the attitude change of this team has been the real triumph for the season. I've noticed that two of our seniors has stepped forward after a tragic team happening and when these kids had every right to fold, they stood together and are playing their best ball. As a diehard Carver fan I've been most proud of this team for looking in the mirror and forgetting all excuses and pulling together!! I dont know much about Brevard but I feel good about this teams disposition going into these playoffs. I think we will be a tough out for any 2A team right now and if any of the current team members read these boards, please know that the Carver faithful has never been more proud of a Carver team!!! Over the past month you've shown true East Winston mettle and brotherhood that can take you guys wherever yall want to go!! I expect a dogfight Friday and I'm predicting Carver by 8.
Great to hear the coaches and kids are getting it right come playoff time. With the way Forsyth County forces each school to play non-conference inside the county the Carver record is very deceiving. Good Luck to Carver!
I'm pretty sure that they have a lot of athletes or speed. I'm just curious to how Brevard will respond to it
Looking at everyone's responses on here is what makes high school football especially playoff football so special. Brevard is enjoying they're best record in awhile and Carver looking like it would be left for dead at the beginning of conference rose to the occasion. So here we are. Someone will win and someone's heart will be broken. We all have given various reasons why our team will win and for the most part everyone's claims sounds legitimate. The best thing about all of this is this time tomorrow we will get on the bus and in our cars and make that trek up the mountain in hopes that our kids are prepared to go into a hostile environment and execute. Brevard will have every intention of defending their house in front of the entire town. The backdrop being someone's season will continue and someone's season and in many cases careers will end. It wont be about multimillion dollar bowl games or some lavish contract but little boys who've become young men who aren't playing for anything else other than the love of the best team sport on earth. I'll take high school playoff football over college and pro any day. I pray that no serious harm or injury comes to either team and that the officials let the teams decide who wins. I got to see Carver towards the end of the regular season and they are really clicking on most of their cylinders and especially on D. Been a lot of talk about their athleticism but they are a very well coached and disciplined football team. Always been very impressed with Coach Crowell and his command on the sideline the one time a year I get to see them the past 3-4 years. Yes Carver is athletic but they are also very well disciplined and play hard for their coach. Should be a good game. Best of luck to both teams.

How well I remember Carver coming here. It was 2010. We thought we would win but we got surprised. We just had no answer for them.The Wolves were a good squad, that year, but the Jackets were better. How well I remember Samquan Evans and Denzel Rice.

Lincolnton that was a great game in 2010 and we converted a big 4th down to Denzel or that outcome could've easily gone the other way!! Denzel has been on the Eagles practice squad and Samquan just wasn't tall enough for the League. But he was a true beast at d-tackle. And we needed him cause the fullback for you guys was a load!! Funny thing is I think we've both beaten each other at each other's place!! Cause we had a real good team in 2013 and was the number 1 seed and yall clipped us at our place!! We were so explosive that year but couldn't connect on our deep balls and the Roseboro kid showed up in the backfield and we were smash mouthed out the playoffs!! We at Carver have great respect for you guys and a quiet rivalry with yall as well!!

Lincolnton came there in 2009 and our away jersey was yellow/gold and we heard Carver's home jersey was yellow/gold. At that time there was talk that we may not have a white away jersey.
It turned out alright, Lincolnton used their gold jersey and Carver wore blue jerseys. I always wondered how it got worked out, but it did.
Good luck against Brevard. It's a nice trip up there and they have good facilities.

28-14 is the final. Good win for Brevard against a very tough Carver team.
