Bill Belichick to UNC

Rule number 1 of modern day, instant journalism: Never let truth get in the way of a good story!
Eh, it's still not an accident that his buyout drops to almost nothing on June 1st IMO. And let's be real, even if an owner didn't want to wait that long, a $10 mil buyout is very doable for an NFL owner. The door is definitely still open.

That being said, if he was truly desired by the NFL, then he wouldn't have taken the UNC job in the first place. I don't think he will leave just yet

Never denied any of that. I was just mentioning that some of the speculative sports journalism articles/ posts involve throwing as much crap as possible against the wall and seeing what sticks.

You may want to read the rest of the statement that Johnathan Jones wrote when he broke this story on CBS Sports. He says that the offer sheet that both parties signed is binding and that it’s very common in college football to sign an offer sheet while negotiating final specifics.
Nothing to see here. I’m not the biggest fan of Bellichik or the place we find college football. But if either party backs out in less than a year, the lawsuits will be massive. Plenty of precedent for holdings folks accountable with implied contracts, much less a written offer agreement.
