Bill Belichick to UNC

It would be a hard pass for me. If they have an offer from the Heels, they most likely have offers from more established programs, that have the same money or more. I could care less about a guy who got rings with Tom Brady, who failed miserably afterwards.
That’s fine, it won’t be for everybody. My point is, congrats to UNC for finally attempting to be relevant and invest in football, which is what this is. Gotta pay to play and get a seat with the big boys, we’ll see what happens. It’s a no from you, we’ll see who says yes and how it works out the next few years. BYU just ponied up 7M for the #1 recruit in basketball, times are a changin’

Im sure UNC will go hard after Faizon Brandon till signing day next year since they are investing in their NIL. TN has one of the best Collectives in the Country. Going to fun to watch. It might come down to relationships and where you actually want to play if the money is close to the same.

QB from TN.

I am not sure these college kids getting NIL paid to play will be able to handle his meanness and stringent policies. He is a no non-sense coach that does not have conversations with players about their feelings, playing time, etc. I do think he will get big time recruits and turn UNC into an NFL funnel for lineman and skill guys. With his hire maybe some of that big time alumni money will come through for NIL agreements.

Again...I find this whole thing fascinating. I cannot recall any uber successful NFL coach going to college and making it work. It is hard to imagine Bill Belechik walking out of the tunnel to play Charlotte with 3500 people in the stands

Wild to me that guys the Saban, Jay Wright, Roy Williams etc, etc basically said I can't coach in this environment but he decides he can jump back in.

Switzer, Jimmy Johnson and Pete Carroll all won national championships/super bowl. Jim Harbaugh won a national championship and made a Super Bowl. Other guys have tried and it not work out. Roy and Jay never coached professionally whereas Bill has and wants to make it similar to what he’s been accustomed to all of his coaching career. Will be fascinating, for sure.

All those guys except Harbaugh went college to pro. NFL to college is rare. Saban went back and forth, Spurrier did it but hard to say he was successful at THE NFL level.

Saban and company aren't used to dealing with paid athletes. BB is. College sports are rapidly moving toward the pro models and that suits him well. Everyone is talking about BB recruiting in a kids home..... doubt that happens very often. But what he will have is a staff full of people who excel at it. BB's hands wont be dirty doing those things.

You dont think every OC and DC in the country would love an opp to coach under BB.

Side note.... given his GF's age he must be decent at communicating with the kids.

Read UNC247 Freddie Kitchens might be the OC and Saban had a lot influence on BB going to College

The insinuation made by MacTTP is that Kitchens will be the TE coach which is a position he held last year. Possibilities for OC are Brian Belichick, Charlie Weiss Jr, and Tommy Rees. If anyone other than MacTTP mentions anyone for any position, it is just them trying to get a reaction.

How long do y’all think BB will stay at UNC. He is only 9 wins away from Don Shula record. At his age he can’t stay in college long if the right NFL job opens up. You know he wants that record

He's probably not going back to the NFL. If he was, he would have waited and taken a job after this season.

So y’all think Manning will leave Texas which is a playoff team to come to UNC to play for BB. That’s about as good as the Grumors. I heard Gruden is still coming to TN
He hasn't played at Texas. Sat for two years, for a drunk coach in sark. Bill and Peyton have a great relationship. He arch does come watch out

lol he is the starter next year at Texas and UNC want sniff the playoffs. Funny you think the Mannings would do that because they know BB. That’s family want jump because he wasn’t the starter this year. He would of never went to Texas if early playing time was important

When it happens don't be surprised. He hasn't played in two years fyi

Hasn’t played he started games this year fyi

Lol you vols fan are nuts. No shit he has started a few handpicked games. He isn't the face of the team, like he should be. He's 10x Quinn will ever b. Worry about UT, we are good at UNC now. Just watch fanboy

With the portal you can have a great team overnight. He is probably getting paid good at Texas but I would leave if UNC calls with Belicheck

Was always going to be awful when Brady and the defensive talent aged out. Good for him for wanting a new challenge and stepping outside to do something different. Could be good, could be shit, but I’m here for it.
Yes, I agree with you that this could be very good for UNC or it could be a disaster. Either way, there will be a lot of eye balls and attention on UNC football going into the 2025 season. I guess that is better than being largely irrelevant and ignored. Even if things do go badly.

lol calling Vol Fans nuts when UNC just hired a 72 year old and you think Arch Manning is going to transfer to UNC over Texas

Unc crowds will be lit this year. Packed stadiums, higher ticket prices and sales, tons of publicity, increased NIL. They will be talked about regularly when they were usually an afterthought. They had to do something because things were going nowhere under Mack.

We saw that the increased publicity did for Deion at Colorado. They were a loss away from the conference title game/CFP, some of the best TV ratings, recruiting above their weight, etc.

Have you seen UNCs schedule? They can definitely make the playoffs with the right portal additions.
