Best barbecue in town

I know there is a church down the rd that serve barbecue twice a year. One in March and the other in October. Next Saturday they will be having it. Using hickory wood and putting it in tinfoil. That barbecue is delicious. Of course this in Rowan Co.
Do they do a bunch of Brunswick Stew also? If it is, they use that church as an example in foodborne outbreak classes because their equipment for the stew was messed up one year and they sold stew that never actually got cooked. They got it sorted out and it should be ok now.

They do it in the fall of the year but they call it something else. I know the bbq is real good eating. I’m looking forward to when they have it this Saturday 12th. The church name Unity United Methodist church off on Unity church rd in Rowan Co. Usually start around 10 am-until. Sometimes they do run out. Also I will add. I sell good desserts. Cakes, pies, cookies and such.

Scott’s BBQ Hemingway SC is a must try

reds in shelby
Alstons is still good but way way WAY too much vinegar anymore I have to get sauce on the side or you just can’t eat it
Enjoyed Carters in Greensboro /high point area the couple times I ate there

Flying pig in shelby was good but sadly costs caused them to shut their doors

BBQ king in Lincolnton as well good stuff

Anyone ever tried Skylight Inn in Ayden?
My father in law use to go there every Saturday for BBQ. I go to Bums in Ayden when I get over that way. Bum married my Mom's 1 st cousin so I always went to see them. Bum has dementia bad now. My wife and I went to the skylight Inn a few weeks ago. Still great BBQ. His son has one in Winterville. Sam Jones BBQ. It's good too.

My dad lives in Ayden, and he was good friends with Pete Jones. Bruce, Jeff and Sam have all carried on the tradition.

I remember last year at the Sampson County Jamboree there was a food truck setup with bbq and brisket. It was really good but I can't remember who it was.
