So you brought it up I will continue off of what you said. 35-40 varsity players. However, 100+ on the sidelines. does that mean that they were just trying to fluff or use intimidation?? if that was the reason it did not work because of the outcome.
What needs to happen that has never happen is what Lumberton, Scotland, and Richmond counties have done with 2 of the 3 having success. Get the program you want ran in the feeder programs. If the feeder programs do not want to do that then have the County AD move coaches to middle schools that will put the program into effect. It is possible seeing we put who was wanted in as the county super. Also, let the head ball coach show his face at Rec league games of Saturday. to the 6-9 year old kids that will compare to a College coach showing up to a HS game. To many dads are worried about winning at flag level and 5th grade tackle; wanting to win a county championship. I have said for years I could care less about county trophies. Look at the baseball teams in 4th-8th grade in Pembroke. every year they have a team that makes it to a world series some where. One team made it to the championship game, but for some reason we cant take the same talent and win a conference championship. I know this is a football thread, so back to football. PSHS has never had the athletes to have a spread offense. if you pick athletes from all 6 HS in the county you might be able to do that. This is not in the kids DNA, we don't send our kids to camps, pay for lesson. ( I say we because I live in the county, not because I am French. I pay for lessons/camps for my kids in the sports they played/play) We expect them to get it on there own, it doesn't work that way. We do not have flash athletes. We have hard nose, break your back athletes, that will knock you in the dirt, pick you up, do it again and laugh at you. We also have the problem of pumping our kids up. what I mean by that is if a kid is in the 5th grade and he or she is good at the sport they play then to many ppl tell them that. They begin to smell themselves and they don't think they smell if they forget the deodorant. They put selves over team and never learn a work ethic. when they get to HS and talent is no more the key factor and work ethic needs to take over they get surpassed by kids that know how to work for what they want. So use what you have, teach them to work and want, and the want will turn to success.
by the way this is your second post. Let me be the first to welcome you to NCPreps. However, you asked me not to bash the school but support. Could you enlighten me on what your first post was????
I think it was and I quote " Maybe the RAMS should send their players to private schools then reclassify them" that was posted on the Lumberton Senior High School thread. Could you clarify on your meaning. I don't want to take it all Hypocritical.....I mean Lumbee nature.... I mean Robeson county Christian..... I mean the wrong way.
Bottom line I can bash who I want, when I want, and how I want, that is the freedom I have. It is called Freedom of Speech. I for one truly know about freedom. But since 2015 is the year of being offended by everything I will try to keep it to a minimal.
