With the state championship schedule for baseball and softball finalized I'm working out a plan for this weekend. It looks like I might try to go to Lenoir-Rhyne's game in Cary at 1:30 Friday afternoon, then over to see the South Caldwell girls play softball at Duke. On Saturday, I'm going to try to see E. Rutherford play for the 2A title and then the 4A series with TC Roberson, both in Burlington. If there is a game three in one of the other series, I might try to get over to that, depending on where and who's playing. I'm really looking forward to it, as I expect big, enthusiastic crowds to turn out. It would be nice to stay until Sunday and see the second L-R game, but I can't manage it. I might try to get back down there later in the week if they win though.

Thanks for the updates. I am at the Perquimanns/Union Academy game waiting on S. Caldwell and Conley to play. But I plan to be at Burlington tomorrow for the games there.

ER and South Lenoir tied 1-1 after one inning. Listening to the game on WAGY 107.5 FM, the Forest City station on KTCBroadcasting.com.

East Rutherford 4
South Lenoir 3

JH Rose 5
North Lincoln 4

NL blew a 4-1 in the bottom of the 7th with (1) out. Runners on 2nd and 3rd batter strikes out on drop 3rd. Bad throw to first scores the tying run, throw to plate was wild and winning run scores from 2nd on (2) errors on what should have been the 2nd out of inning.

Laney starter went 100+ pitches so he is done for the weekend. I did note one of Laneys better players was not in the lineup tonight and I am not sure why. He also pitches some, so that could be an issue IF Laney can find a way to win the 1st game tomorrow.

Cavs really putting on a hitting clinic here. One sharply struck ball after another. Patient at the plate and aggressive on the bases. 6-0, top of the third.

East Rutherford gets their first long ball of the day with a one out solo homer to left. Then they tack on two more and it’s 9-0 in the top of the fourth.

I’ve got to run home now, but it would be nice to be able to go back over to the SC softball game and then go see N. Lincoln. Oh well, some other time.

Guys, here is the Link to WLON (Lincolnton Radio Station). They will be carrying the J.H. Rose-North Lincoln game. Begins at 5 PM in case anyone wants to listen.

SIDE NOTE: You'll see two places to click on. If you get music on one, click on the other and it should be the game. CAUTION, IF YOU'RE WEARING EARBUDS OR HEADPHONES, THEY SOMETIMES HAVE THE MUSIC LOUD. Broadcast of the game will start around five.

Also special thanks to all that contributed and posted to the HS baseball thread.
Glad to see Western teams win all 4 state championships. Congrats to all of them.

TC Roberson is your 4A State Champions as they defeated Laney 8-7. Congratulations to TCR for 3 Straight 4A titles. To my understanding they are the 1st 4A team to win 3 Straight titles in a row.
Great job by TCR winning another state title. The Rams are a baseball machine and there is no reason to think they won't be a favorite to bring it home again in 2026.

TCR loses 12 seniors I believe and the horses on their pitching staff. Won’t say they can’t win the 6A but with Catholic in 6A and returning a majority of their team, I would put them as the front runners at this point

Asheboro Charter won huh???

Next season will be interesting for them in new 4A classification…
My friend, you should see the one here. They lost out in the fourth round 6-5 to eventual 2A state champs East Rutherford. There are two campuses, one at Lake Norman, and the other here in Lincolnton. It reminds you of the 1958 horror classic, "The Blob," every time I go by there it looks like it's grown, and that's just the one in Lincolnton. My Father recently got a letter explaining how to put his child (me) on the waiting list. If my dad was living he would be 110 years old, him having been born in 1915.

They do lose Simpson and Wallace but the other kid was allowed back on the team that was originally removed during the playoffs he just didn’t pitch anymore. He’ll be solid in the rotation next year and there’s almost assuredly going to be a new face show up to man that rotation next year as well. He’s a high level D1 pitching recruit in WNC and his mom got a job at TCR last year and every one thought he was gone then, he just had some buddies he grew up with talk him into continuing to play their senior year with them. They both just graduated so I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t wind up as a Ram next year. I want name the name but if you’re in the know, he’s committed to be a Diamond Heel.

Congrats to the kids and coaches for the titles. I see them going down in everything but wrestling. The 4A east is pretty weak so they may continue to challenge in wrestling for a few seasons behind that very strong rising 10th grade class of wrestlers. The 4A West is a different story and is pretty loaded with some traditionally strong teams in both wrestling and baseball come state tourney, playoffs and duals.
