Is it just now being ruled on?Comes from fight at Richmond County early in season. Richmond didn't have any players leave the bench. Anson had many players involved!
Yes, and they are supposed to play each other this FridayArent they in the same conference?
I believe is that you're ineligible for the playoffs if you have three (or more) players ejected for fighting over the course of a whole season....and very often when this happens the three or more get ejected for fighting all at the same time, it's automatic if you leave the sideline, and usually automatic if it's deemed you threw a punch....players on the field already have more leeway to try to separate people or pull their guys away and break it up if it looks things are escalating, but guys who leave the bench area that were not in the game, regardless of intention, are automatically ejected....also, note, these are only "fighting" ejections....so the guys who get "disqualified" for 2 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in the same game do not count toward a team's three for the yearWow. So sad for the kids who kept their heads. I thought it used to be multiple fights but I guess a brawl technically is multiple fights...

Theoretically, yes, one....as long as the next wild card in (right now Carrboro) would go into 2AA (which Carrboro would)....if the next wild card in went into small 2A, then, no, the cut line would not move....but it will all reshuffle anyway after the final rankings that they won't release until the bracket gets released some time on SaturdayWouldn't this make some 2aa teams go 2a?
Sorry, but they had no chance in 2a or 2aa. I watched couple of their opponest who they lost too. Not impressive to say the least. Not a bad team by any means but they wouldnt make or break a teams run at state if that team was legit contender.A good team too.
They lost to 4AA Richmond County, 3AA powerhouse Lee County, and 3A playoff team Monroe. The combined record of those 3 teams is 26-4. Anson was a legitimate threat in 2A.Sorry, but they had no chance in 2a or 2aa. I watched couple of their opponest who they lost too. Not impressive to say the least. Uh.....they lost to Lee Co. by 7 with a couple of big time recruits, were shutout by Richmond (no shame in losing to them, though there is shame in what happened that night to cause this whole mess), and lost first game to Monroe by 11 (Monroe not at all a cream puff, and I will usually give a team a pass in Week 1 if it was their worst performance of the year, if they still have those two athletes and the QB from last year, I don't know anybody that would want to play them; their defense wasn't great in 2018; lot of speed but could be pushed around up front with solid play by opposing OL, haven't seen them this year, maybe not a state title contender on paper that people would name off but would have been a pesky opponent for a team that likes to throw the ball a lot and doesn't have much of a running game or is shaky on defense and special teams with tackling, and tries to outscore people, that pair of backs I saw last year (Sturdivant and Marshall) might have been the fastest pair of teammates I've ever seen in a high school game; didn't have a stopwatch or anything but they definitely passed the eye test, the South Granville team I follow was able to seal a 34-28 win against them and stave off a 4th quarter comeback in 2018 (were leading by 3 TDs in mid or late 3rd Qtr) by running out the clock going for 3-5 yards in a cloud of dust down the stretch and they just couldn't stop it...maybe they wouldn't have been favored if they played against Shelby....but who would be?Sorry, but they had no chance in 2a or 2aa. I watched couple of their opponest who they lost too. Not impressive to say the least. Could be wrong but I believe it happened to Forest Hills because of Central Academy not having football anymore and they had a spot in schedule to fill....same reason that the South Granville team I follow played Anson last year, as CATA in the Rocky River didn't field a football team and in the Northern Carolina we lost a game when they combined Northern Vance & Southern Vance into one school (who moved up to 3A this year), that out of state private school could have been the best opponent they could find, good point about them not having same rules/rewards/consequences at stake, but still can't use that as an excuseScheduling a team outside of the NCHSAA, NCIHSA or the SC/VA version of each is pretty risky. You might even say that it is lazy.
A group of kids loosely attached to a pretend school and a coach from who-knows-where is the ultimate wild card.
Schedule wisely and you can reduce your chances of this happening to you. Doesn’t eliminate the risk, but it greatly reduces it.

Are you talking Anson or FH??Scheduling a team outside of the NCHSAA, NCIHSA or the SC/VA version of each is pretty risky. You might even say that it is lazy.

I saw the video of Forest Hill and everyone but about 3 left the bench and pretty much went all the way across the field.Wow. So sad for the kids who kept their heads. I thought it used to be multiple fights but I guess a brawl technically is multiple fights...
Just wanted to make sure i wasn’t assuming you meant both!!Sorry, I should have been more clear. I’m talking about Forest Hills and their game with the out of state private school.
As for Anson, (and many others over the course of history), this happens, regretfully.
LOL more than 5 came off the anson bench it was the whole team and the anson kid started it!!!!!Anson's issue wasn't that bad. A Richmond Player Punched an Anson player, and about 5 players came of the bench. It was stopped by coaches. For a team to lose their eligibility over a sucker punch is horrible. Richmond started and was more disciplined.
That school is going to be the powerhouse in the Carolinas in a few years. Based in rock hill. It is a 1st year charter school that joins the SC athletic association next year. They have 3 SC state championship head coaches on the staff, All hall of fame coaches. ACC and SEC coaches have been coming to the practices. The version I was told,FH player was definitely in the wrong.Scheduling a team outside of the NCHSAA, NCIHSA or the SC/VA version of each is pretty risky. You might even say that it is lazy.

Yes, all three of those probably would be favored against Monroe, who is having a down year from where they were recently; lot of teams out there who wish they could be 6-4 in a down year, while they are the worst of Anson's three losses, I still don't know that it's a bad loss (like Carrboro would be)So if Shelby or Reidsville lost to Carrboro in week 1 would they get a pass. Dont think so. I saw Monroe play twice, 1 less time than reidsville this year. And they were pretty awful . Had some defense at times but other than that nothing. Reidsville, Shelby,(east surry) lol would beat Monroe this year
If this was a facebook post, I would react with the Angry faceSocial media rumors going around that some kids from Lexington plan to start something tonight to try to get Thomasville banned from the playoffs. I think both coaches are aware of it. Hopefully, that will head it off.
I hope our kids react with the calm face!If this was a facebook post, I would react with the Angry face
What 2 games did you see Monroe play?So if Shelby or Reidsville lost to Carrboro in week 1 would they get a pass. Dont think so. I saw Monroe play twice, 1 less time than reidsville this year. How many times did you watch Anson? I think it’s unrealistic to say how good a team actually is without ever watching them.Sorry, but they had no chance in 2a or 2aa. I watched couple of their opponest who they lost too. Not impressive to say the least. Not a bad team by any means but they wouldnt make or break a teams run at state if that team was legit contender.
I believe Montgomery Central automatically makes the 3A playoffs (unless they opt out) as the "3A division winner"....I know, I know, they're the only 3A in the conference....but they would be seeded at bottom with wild cards, and not conference champions because they neither have a .500 record nor finished in top 3 in conferenceSince Anson and Forest Hills are out of the playoffs will Montgomery Central make the playoffs? They did beat Forest Hills in the regular season but they have only won three games with their final non conference game tonight at Albemarle.
