Reidsville's Brad Green moved up the state record lists Saturday night with his flawless performance against Edenton. He split the uprights with his seven PAT and made three field goals in three tries. (Actually had to kick one of them twice because of a time out).

Brad shares the state championship game offensive MVP award with long snapper Cole Setliff and holder Titus Jones and the entire offensive line. Special teams were truly special for Reidsville in this game and all season.

I've checked the NCHSAA record books and came up with these marks (I don't think anyone will ever surpass Albemarle's Tyler Lewis, who added the points after T.A. McClendon's touchdown parade from 2000 to 2003 ... second-half running clock wasn't in play in those days).

(Note: this does not include any other players from 2016 season who may have moved onto list)

I just noticed that another Reidsville kicker should be on the career tally. Jack Cassady, the kicker on Reidsville's 2002 and 2003 championship teams, had 182 career PATs. Jack kicked three full seasons and had a few kicks as a freshman. He had the school record Brad Green broke earlier this season.
A lot of the marks in the state record book are incomplete simply because they were not reported.

A lot of people overlook kickers, holders and long snaps. This group did great this year. You never think of the long snapper until it goes wrong. Edenton had several issues last night

Without a doubt....this Reidsville football team had the best all around special teams play in the history of the school.....terrific kicking, coverage and returns...kudos to all including snapper, holder, blockers, tacklers and return guys...And Brad Green.....what can you say about the best kicker in Reidsville football history?? Outstanding.....his shoes will be hard to fill next year...........................

I agree that special teams are huge especially in the tough games. I will like to congratulate your kicker on a great performance yesterday.

We had some great kickers this year. I will add that Yahir Cano of Wallace Rose Hill finished his great career as well with 316 PATs and 387 total kicking points. (not official totals but what I have been told by WRH coaches)

Lawson Hodges from Thomasville also kicked 182 successful PAT's in his career. NC Preps all-state in 2010. There are a lot of records and accomplishments omitted from the NCHSAA record books. It's hardly all inclusive or accurate.

Document it and let the NCHSAA know. They can't report what they don't know. I think the staff they have there now is more involved with stats, records, etc.

That's good to hear. Unfortunately, some schools are not as proactive as others, and only the school can report it. Media documentation isn't enough.

Maybe only had 1 bad exchange all year...great job Cole Setliff, Titus jones and brad green!!

Thanks ... I checked on the W-RH maxpreps web page and Cano (a left-footed kicker) has impressive stats and should be high on the lists. 110 points this season with 11 of 15 on field goals and 77 of 78 on extra points.

TGT...this was highest scoring Reidsville team in our football history...An incredible 845 points in 16 games for a 52.19 per game avg....Not sure how high that ranks in the state all time but it's gotta be way up there.........Reidsville also only allowed 114 point scored on them in 16 games an avg. of 7.13.......That's a scoring margin of 45.06 points per game.....If not a state record....again that's gotta be among the very best..

Also Reidsville's consecutive game scoring streak stands at 276 games (also best in the state)....Reidsville all time wins stands now at 722 games (2nd in state all time behind Shelby)...........................

Also Jimmy Teague's record as head coach of Reidsville is an unbelievable 257 Wins 53 Losses....that's a winning percentage of 82.9%

All despite the 42-point mercy rule (second half running clock)
