You didn’t mention Northern Guilford either. They actually will be one of the favorites next year to win it all dropping down from 4A like Catholic. They’ll be better next season than they are this year. Those two programs had some battles a decade ago.

Walter M. Williams Will definitely make a few appearances out of the East within the next 4 seasons. One of the states best freshman Qbs is on that jv team that is the real deal.

I think they should create an entitlement conference:
Charlotte Catholic, Dudley, West Charlotte, Bishop McGuinness.
If you get special rules....you get a special conference.

I am sure you know all of this - but I will elaborate.
CC has no region parameters being a true private school. Also they literally have the ability to recruit and technically pay kids (through scholarship money or other) to attend their school. I know some of that is opening up the last couple years to public schools...but they have long held advantages that 99% of the typical public HS program did not have access to and was restricted from doing.
The other two I mentioned and a few more ....simply put.... were able to deduct ADM numbers if a certain percentage of free lunches was shown, and thus allowing them to compete at lower class levels in sports. So, a team like WC with 2084 students which presently would/SHOULD make it an 8a team (though it's just the third largest 7a team) was playing 3a ball these last four years. I think they should be 8a now because they are a top 35 largest HS in the state AND in a metro area.

LOL...call it what you want. If you have players from Lake Norman, Waxhaw, Rock Hill, etc on one HS team......it is unfair.
Just go play private schools that can do the same thing....level playing field.
