3A Numbers

With Forbush that would be the conference we played in from 2001-2004
That's what I was thinking would be the case. We also cant neglect the fact that we could possibly see a 2A/3A/4A split conference. I don't like it much but its a very real possibility for our area from what I have heard.

Scared of Reidsville?

Not hardly.
And surprising coming from you.

The single biggest reason that Reidsville has more titles than Shelby is because of a rival association (WNCHSAA) or split classifications (2A-2AA)
And we have proven it.
Shelby has 4 State Championships when no rival associations or subclasses existed.
Reidsville has 1.
Head to head Shelby leads 4-2.
There have been several recent years where Shelby won Championships in split classes and Reidsville won in the other one.
Objective observers rated Shelby far superior in those seasons, but both Tltles count.

No, we are confident that it is the Reidsville faithful that have held their breath anticipating the realignment and would they be grouped with the Golden Lions.
We love it.
The proven best way for Shelby to soon surpass this bogus self proclaimed “ capitol (sic) “ is face to face.

The Golden Lions of Shelby High are the most successful, sustained, winningest football program in the state.
They are The True Dynasty.

Shouldn't be surprising. Just a fun jab at a county rival. 🤣

It was more of a dream than reality. I would imagine 7/8 teams to a conference but who knows how they will do it. Cramer will most likely be with us one way or another.
Talked to a buddy over there, he'd rather be with ya'll then these teams that they've been playing

Was you and your tag team partner in accident or out of the country the last two years during the playoffs. You sure were absent on here. Just wondering. I was relieved the other day when I saw your post.

I really think you are afraid of the Rams lately. You know you haven't done too well against us. What were the scores the last two meetings? Is one of your hobbies middle ages history. I now you aren't too well versed on modern history.

More than likely, Reidsville will go East. Assuming that happens, Shelby will have a cakewalk to the state every year. Biggest threats would be Mount Airy, Lincolnton, West Lincoln, East Rutherford (if they continue to get better), East Surry maybe. That's it.

One thing strange to me about the numbers when I saw them the first time is how Monroe has been in 2A all this time with just shy of 1200 students. Yes, Union County is one of fastest growing counties in the state but that's crazy. Forest Hills and rest of the 2A schools in our conference have over 300 to 400 less students than they do. They even have 145 more students than current 3A Parkwood.

Good luck on the road these playoffs
Thanks. If we played in a piss poor conference after getting beat by every good team we played but one we’d be at home for most of the games too.

Betty Crocker conference champs. Nothing but cupcakes.

I’d wish you good luck. But I would not mean it. I hope you get broke off here soon.

I'm not totally sold on Mount airy in this classification but also wouldn't count them out. They could give athletic fast wide open teams a fit by forcing them into a game of contrition. Slowing it down trying to break the other team. Really kind of like West Lincoln on steroids 🤣

Yall got to stop treating Shelby like the state game and just maybe yall would have won one in the last 10 years
You’re embarrassing yourself. Come on up here in the playoffs and get with these teams we play.

That’s why I know yall will never move up. You ain’t coming off the gravy train. A state game. LOL.

Looks like the Shelby n Reidsville showdown continues in this class

They might as well play each other every week. Funny part is for a while now they clowned each other about weak conferences and weak schedules. It's like NCHSAA threw them in an old back yard league and said "here, ya'll fight it out amongst yourselvs".... literally

Better not complain no more or in 2030 they'll be in 8man all together.

I just met a Crest fella this morning. Pretty sure he was drunk...but he could just act that way all the time.

He saw my Maiden shirt and asked who we played. "Lincolnton", I replied. "Western Lincolnton?", he inquired with a tilted head. "Nope, just regular Lincolnton".

My first thought was that @Lincolnton would have enjoyed this little exchange. Come find me tonight! I'll try to keep an eye out.

Give us roughly 150 more boys to pick a team from and you never beat us. 792 vs 1098...that's a pretty big difference.

We will probably be playing Monroe in the 4th round - 1192 students, yes 100 more than you (and 400 more than us, 200 more boys), and someone you will probably be playing in the playoffs over the next several years as they will be 5A with you.

The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have. - Vince Lombardi

I don’t care. At all. 3 in a row. We’re dragging you next year too.

You better get to recruiting. We all saw you subpar middle school team.

This from the NCHSAA today:

This week, the NCHSAA Staff has been working to finalize the Average Daily Membership (ADM) statistics for this school year to determine classifications for realignment. The numbers and classifications sent to members this week are still undergoing revision. In previous years, DPI has provided the ADM report; however, challenges with a change in the management of data coupled with Hurricane Helene, that report has been delayed indefinitely. This year's data has been reported directly to the NCHSAA from the Public School Units and Heads of Schools and is still being updated and corrected.

"This marks the first step in an extensive process," Commissioner Que Tucker said. "In the coming weeks, NCHSAA staff will draft a proposed conference alignment, which will be reviewed by the Realignment Committee. The committee will then work to develop a first draft for membership approval. The decision to expand from four to eight classifications was approved by the NCHSAA membership at the May 2023 Annual Meeting. We look forward to entering a new era of interscholastic athletics in North Carolina under the eight-classification model.”

The NCHSAA will formally release the ADM numbers and the 2025-2029 Classifications when the data is complete and accurate.

Obviously it's part of a Shelby conspiracy to get Reidsville kicked up to 4A so they won't have to worry about having to make any future potential trips to Reidsville's Community Stadium.

I could see Mount Airy, East Surry, Walkertown, Surry Central, North Wilkes, and West Wilkes. Not having anyone from Stokes County makes me think they will not pair up Rockingham County and Surry County schools.
