Five teams from Mid-State Conference made it -- three of them with overall losing records. Need I say more?
Pretty weak conference Walkertown has decent team but will face Reidsville rd 2. I was hoping West Stokes would be better but turn it over often. They could beat Hendersonville first round but lost couple guards to injury.

Brackets in 2A have Maiden potentially playing Lincolnton vs. West Caldwell winner. WTH? Why would they have 3 teams that could potentially be out after 2nd in same conference. Didn't they just play a conference tournament? Playing a conference oppt in first round should be eliminated from states. That is dumb. Lincolnton will have their hands full beating a WC team 3 times...So stupid how that works out.
Best of luck to all the teams. I personally think Lincoln Charter has an easier pathway to Regionals than any 1st place teams even with a 6th seed. They should be very happy where they are at.

I have taken the brackets and done a twist. Let me know what you think. Conference champs are only guaranteed to make the playoffs. Then teams are seeded based on their RPI with the exception of they cannot leap frog a team that placed higher than them in their conference. So if Team A and B are in the same conference and Team A has RPI of .5555 and placed third, they would be seeded behind Team B that placed second even though Team B may have an RPI of .54444.

EDIT: Just to clarify above, if team B's seed is 14, team A would then be seeded just behind them at seed 15.

I've included what my seeding would be, current seeding by NCHSAA and their RPI. Another thought would just be to get your 32 teams (conference champs only guaranteed to make the playoffs, then fill in by RPI). This would essentially just be using the RPI column. Which column do you think is the most accurate to use?

Hey man, you know I ALWAYS respected your opinion. Give me a solid. What kind of odds are you giving on the Reidsville V North Stanly ball game.
The 31 seed Forest Hills stunned No. 2 Randleman so nothing's impossible when it's 5 on 5.
Randleman has seen enough of Forest Hills this school year.

I am sure that's going to really hurt Reidsville having not played many high quality teams (other than the high quality teams they did play, and beat).

NOTED REIDSVILLE OPPONENTS:
Caldwell Academy won an independent schools championship last week
Farmville Central (21-4), the top seed in the East, is on to the second round of 2-A
Corvain Community School (20-7) is in the second round of the 1-A playoffs
Southeast Alamance (22-6) won its 2-A playoff opener
Gretna (19-5) is still alive in the Virginia state tournament
Orange (19-8) won its 3-A playoff opener earlier this week over C.B. Aycock, 69-66

One big-time opponent, St. Anne's Belfield of Charlottesville, Va., lost 71-69 to Bishop O'Connell in Virginia independent playoffs earlier this week.

Not a bad loss for St Ann'es though
