Entering his junior season at South Carolina looked good in the spring game will probably have a bigger role on defense this year

Don’t take my play calling criticism as an indictment on the qb himself. He was one of the better qbs Clinton has ever suited up.
No but we ran him way too much especially when you had capable RBs in the backfield with him
And yet…..it worked 90% of the time. That kid was tough as nails. He took a beating.
All of that is true, even the 90% part. One of the toughest to ever do it at Clinton. Has nothing to do with it.

I was disappointed in o line. I think they’ll get there but got a lot of work to do. I was impressed with Montgomery at middle linebacker. He’s a man. Running backs going to be fine but o line got to be able to open some holes. Pearsall looked good passing.
The O-line didn’t do a horrible job. You gotta hit the holes can’t be dancing. I seen a play it should’ve been a touchdown. The running back had 15 yards of sideline chose to run straight into the defender. That don’t have anything to do with O-line thats about vision.
That’s a good point, but 5 ran same play later and cut play up field for positive yds. We got hardly nothing between the tackles. I guess we were playing a decent 7-5 4a team. You could tell o line is young
Defense was good against the run. Against the pass, not so much. But, Wilson at DB, Pearsall at Safety and Montgomery at middle linebacker and Texas at d end and Love at linebacker, we gonna be a lot better than last few years. D line was pretty good. They sure didn’t get pushed around. Our db’s were getting beat on those quick passes towards the sideline by not playing tight enough on receiver. Kind of like Shelby did. I think we got the kids to correct that. I forgot about Texas, I thought he played well at DE. For the first time it a while , I think we should be pretty darn good on d
I think it was more of the defense scheme. difficult to block a lot of moving parts

From the 2-3 series I watched online last night:
WRH has athletes
They have some beef on the Dline
Pass defense is still a work in progress
Run defense is good.
Had trouble with middle run by getting push on NB, but let them get outside on you and oh boy.
for me, this was your typical good WRH team but who knows could be great come year end.

That ends the preseason. Now all of us play for real. Let them settle it on the field. Going to be Fun!!!!
