(20)SOUTHWEST EDGECOMBE @ (12)JAMES KENAN

(22)HOLMES @ (3)SOUTHEAST ALAMANCE

(7)EASTERN WAYNE @ (2)WHITEVILLE

I have Ayden Grifton advancing and if the good Kinston team shows up I also think they’ll advance. You never know with that team. I got the Dogs by a couple tds because I think they’re coming together as a whole and those two rbs are a load. Coach Motsinger has done a good job of getting things turned around this season and I think we may see them in EC very soon. East Duplin and West Craven is gonna be 🔥. I wish our game would get moved up so I could go to Vanceboro Friday.

Otis you're not picking no upsets!
No Im going with how I feel things can go. I’m hoping having home field will give us an edge with ED. We have a lot in common with how this season has gone. We both have struggled with injuries and both are playing their best ball now. Not a lot of difference between us.
I haven’t seen James Kenan or Martin County but the JK posters on here give them the edge for me!!
I like Ayden Grifton since they beat us this year for the first time ever and they won the conference! Congrats to them on that!
I went with Whiteville cause I just don’t like Farmville.

Looking at these games it’s possible ( I realize my odds) West Craven could play Ed, then NE, and WRH?? If that were to happen nobody on here could tell me nothing! I’d build a dang woodshed like that fool from Rocky Mount had and you’d have no choice but to ignore me!! 🤣🤣

I should have said we will play ED that much we know!

(24) West Craven @ (1) Northeastern
(12) James Kenan @ (5) Wallace Rose Hill
(6) Ayden Grifton @ (3) Southeast Alamance
(7) Eastern Wayne @ (2) Whiteville
Write it down!! 💪

Its no way Ayden beats Holmes! They scrimmage every year and I know its just a scrimmage but they take Ayden to the woodshed every year from what I hear.

I don’t see them on the schedule the past couple of years. Ayden has won 6 straight. They have usually been at or near the bottom of our conference. I like to see them have a great year for a change. Hopefully they will get the win. We are talking about Edenton Holmes right??

Something snapped with Ayden during this season, and they have won games that are usually cake walks for the opposing teams. They've figured something out. It would seem weird to see AG best Holmes, but they've been having weird victories all year. I might as well pick our conference team in that one. AG by 5.

What’s your thoughts about your game with Wallace? How are you guys looking right now?

I just don’t see Holmes beating AG. I’m not sure if any of you have watched this years Aces team play but they are down. They did win on the road Friday but tbh SG was terrible. I will be in constant contact with one of my good friends whose son is one rb’s for the Aces. Hey Wes I’m pulling for you guys!!! Represent

NE vs GC

NE 56-7

ED at WC
Rematch here of the earlier season game in which WC won. We were real banged up in that one, and we are back to solid health now and playing our best football of the year. Looks like West Craven is also. I trust out staff to be ready for the rematch. I think WC will have real trouble stopping us.
ED 35-14

JK at Martin County
The outside looks at this matchup, says Jk and moves on. Not so fast. Martin County is good. They have athletes all over the field. I was able to catch their week 12 game with northside Jacksonville. They will give JK real problems in this one. If JK heads to williamston with their mind set on Legion stadium, Martin County is going to pull the upset. (yes it would be an upset regardless of the nchsaas stupid seeding system)
MC 27-21

SWE at WRH
This will be a blowout if WRH doesnt turn the ball over. I dont think they will.
WRH 35-7

Kinston at SE Alamance
This is the most interesting matchup of round 2. My opinion of SE Alamance definitely took a hit after seeing how badly SWE beat cummings. This game will come down to Kinston O vs SEA D. Kinston is going to let a few touchdowns up that is for sure. The question is, can they keep up offensively? I think Kinston's athleticism brings this one home for them
Kinston 33-28

Holmes at AG
I dont think either of these teams are great but give me AG
AG 21-14

Princeton at EW
Don't know to much about either of these teams except that I assume kinston runs it a lot and that EW throws it a lot.nGonna take the upset here in what I think could be a tossup game
Princeton 21-16

FC at Whiteville
FC seems to be playing their best ball of the year and Whiteville seems to be playing their worst. Still dont think FC will pull the upset here.
Whiteville 42-21

If anyone is going to be held to 14 points it won’t be West Craven! Bank on it. You couldn’t stop us before. You want banged up before that game started it. That should be pointed out.

May as well throw my .02 in.

NE/GC- I think this might be closer than some think. Both teams throw it all over the yard. GC comes from what has proven so far to be one of if not the best football conference in the east this season. I still think NE has too much fire power especially on the offensive side of the ball. NE by 16

ED/WC-contrast of styles based on the regular season. If ED can play keep away and keep WC offense off the field, their chances improve dramatically. WC QB had a once in a lifetime game last week. Not sure if that was due to Nash defense, or lack thereof or just a great game plan. If I was ED, the Kinston game would concern me as WC likes to throw it. I understand ED has key people back that didnt play much in first meeting. Still, that was 3 months ago. I dont see a blowout and it all comes down to EDs defense as I think the ED offense will move the ball and put TDs on the board. Game to me is a toss up and homefield is usually worth 3 points or so.

JK/Martin- My first thought was JK easy based on the Northside Jax result. Not sure if Martin might have rested a lot of starters and gave some younger guys some game action being it was an extra game and did not count. Still, Martin did lose to Bertie and outside of Tarboro, hasnt played that challenging of a schedule. Still, they played Tarboro so I dont think they will be in awe of JK. If JK gets the power running game going it will be a long night for Martin. I think that happens. JK by 20

WRH/SWE- to me, most interesting game. Everyone talks about how great the homefield advantage and environment is for WRH and while it is a unique place to play, I do not think it is what it once was based on the attendance the last couple of times I have been there. SWE from the EPC and the question is which team shows up. SWE beat playoff teams Nash, Eastern Wayne, West Craven, and came within one score of Farmville, North Pitt and AG and played Tarboro close. WRH plays one of the toughest schedules around so they are tested also. If WRH turns it over 5 times, SWE wins. Do they do it two weeks in a row? I think not so give me the Bulldogs by a TD. This will be a close game.

SEA/Kinston- long ride for Kinston. If this was a basketball playoff game, their fans would travel too. Football? Eh, not so much. SEA should be able to match Kinston at the skill positions. I think the key is both teams interior. This will be won at the line of scrimmage by the team that runs the ball the best. Kinston played both WRH and JK close and routed ED. Kinston comes from a much better football conference. SEA schedule only has one team still playing (N Moore). Give me Kinston by 10

Holmes/AG- AG is one of the better stories this season. They are champions of the most competitive 2A league in the east this year but I dont know that they were the "best" team. Holmes is sneaky good and well coached, winners of four in a row. I think AG is more battle tested based on schedule and is on a roll. AG by 18

EW/Princeton- met back on 10/4 with EW coming away with a 30-18 win. I think EW will exploit a Princeton defense that based on scores isnt very good (30 to Goldsboro, 24 to Spring Creek, 28 to North Johnston). Princeton is capable of long sustained drives running the single wing, but EW sees is each year so they are probably better prepared to contain it as opposed to someone that never sees it. Princeton is here by virtue of drawing East Carteret first round. If they had played any of the other 9 teams above EC, I dont think they are playing this week. This might be the blowout of the 2nd round. Give me EW by 25.

FC/Whiteville- I think Whiteville is a very fortunate #2 seed. A few teams just below them would probably be favored if they were to match up. I dont think this is a good matchup for Whiteville. FC plays in the EPC and Whiteville hasnt played anyone outside of JK. FC can score points and I am just not sure the Wolfpack can keep pace. I think the #2 seed goes down by 5.

Unbiased opinion above.

I have a question for you bud. You said NE and GC throw it all over the yard. According to maxpreps NE avgs 300 in the air and GC avg 99. Lol. How they BOTH throw it across the yard?

Reactions: Football101de
Point taken Bud. Was not aware that there was such a large difference in yardage. NE throws on average 23 times a game, GC around 12. Compared to other teams still on the eastern side of the bracket (WRH, ED, JK, Princeton) thats a lot.
Eagles 🦅 have a nasty sophomore quarterback in the waiting who is gonna be a superstar. We’ve all seen glimpses of the kid but he’s having to wait his turn. Greene Central’s largest loss this season was 15 at the hands of SWE. I see Northeastern winning by 4 tds plus. Their rb Cobb is averaging just under 100 yards a game and their passing game isn’t to impressive. I just don’t see it being close but we all saw what N Lenoir did to Wrh so I guess anything’s possible. We’re also due for that wtf game 😂

GC doesn't have the offense to keep up with NE. They are content to meticulously keep the ball the entire quarter. Make them go 3 and out a few times, and it'll be a wrap early, because NE won't have a problem scoring when they have the ball. GC can certainly keep it close with a run heavy opponent though.

You are partly correct there. we got banged up during that game but our back got hurt what 2 or 3 plays in? and our QB wasnt playing. youre also correct that we couldn't stop you before. But if you think we are the same football team you saw the first time around, youre dead wrong. Looking forward to Friday night!

Neither one of us are the same as then. It’s going to be a fun game I think for everyone there.

SG was not terrible. They lost from a fumble on the 1 yard line in OT. A terrible team doesn’t almost beat Southern Durham and Vance County. Only losing those games by self inflicted stuff. Holmes is a well coached team and the triple option can take anyone down if not defended well.

Holmes is well coached but SG wasn’t good at all, that’s just my opinion. Holmes better work on those pitches and try and toss them lower so they can be more efficient. Many of the pitches were high and not precise which most definitely affected the plays to some degree. Go Aces

Well the only one I got wrong was Kinston over Southeast Alamance. The score showed it close and I was impressed with SE’s effort last year again Clinton last year in their first year of football
