West Montgomery, 8-0 conference, 11-0 overall
East Montgomery, 7-1, 9-2
North Stanly, 6-2, 8-3
North Moore, 5-3, 7-4
Union Academy, 4-4, 4-7
Albemarle, 3-5, 3-8
South Stanly, 2-6, 2-9
Chatham Central, 1-7, 1-10
South Davidson, 0-8, 0-11

Look for West Montgomery to repeat as conference champions, but the conference championship may come down to the final week of the regular season when West Montgomery entertains East Montgomery. North Stanly and North Moore will also have something to say in the conference standings. Union Academy will fall in the middle of the pack, while Albemarle and South Stanly try to improve on last seasons' finish. Chatham Central edges away from South Davidson in the conference basement.

Looks pretty good to me RD. However for WM to go undefeated will be a tall order. I just don't see it happening..

RD you are right WM should go undefeated bc their non-conference schedule is very weak with Jordan-Matthews,West Stanly and the conference is sub-par. I know Eddins wants that #1 seed but what good is that when you lose 2nd round at home, I'm not bashing West just which they would play better teams so the boys would be ready for the playoffs.

Tvill you may be right, WM lose some good players from last year, they will be hard to replace, how's does the bulldog's look compared to last year.

Looks about right. Wouldn't surprise me to see NM challenge EM/NS for second/third in the standings.

I would venture to say that the West Montgomery vs. West Mongtomery in the final week of the regular season will be a toss up.;);)

I
"West Montgomery entertains East Montgomery ..." I still can't type ...

I know that feeling far too well. I blame it on the keyboard. Just like when I was in school and misspelled a word......I just blamed it on my pencil.:D

I'll support the boys regardless. But I'm pretty sure we graduated a lot. Maybe I'm wrong. And our JV weren't very strong last year. Us finishing 2 or 3 would be pretty wishful thinking in my opinion. Looking forward to it getting started though. Go Mustangs!

LIKE A PRO...I've heard from a very reliable source( ITJ ) that Thomasville is stacked at the skill positions, the players from last years jv team are going to play a big part in their success this year, just a matter of the o line conning together

TVILLE... WM oline is going to be questionable but the running backs are solid, conference west should be fine.

Watch Chatham Central with the new coach. They have a little more excitement than in years past. Still not incredibly talented, but could win 2 or 3 conference games this year. Could play spoiler against a team like North Moore Union Academy or even Albemarle. I also think Albemarle has a much better year than last year.

I'll say:

West Montgomery, 8-0 conference, 10-1 overall
East Montgomery, 7-1, 9-2
North Stanly, 6-2, 8-3
Albemarle, 5-3, 5-6
South Stanly, 4-4 4-7
North Moore, 3-5 , 5-6
Union Academy, 3-5, 3-8
South Stanly, 3-5, 4-7
Chatham Central, 2-6, 2-9
South Davidson, 0-8, 0-11

From South Stanly on down through Chatham Central, they beat up on each other this year.

I think it will come down to that last game of the year for the conference as well. WM is loaded in the skill positions, so it should be a fast paced game plan this year. I expect to see more passing this year or at least more than we have seen to keep 10 out of the box while the oline works to gel. Once again, scoring points should not be the issue when the games that matter roll around. We've scored plenty enough to win the last few games we've lost. They will lose to Tville but that loss can be dropped anyway. We'll see how it comes together soon.

Fantastic, I have to disagree about WM being loaded at the skills position they lost three of there top receivers and we don't want west to be a passing team, that would spells disaster they need to keep the ball in leake's hands.

Boy triplej you know how to get the boards alive, it's been kinda boring, you are right keep the ball in leake's hands and west will be fine.

I agree with the two montgomery team and NS being the top three but I believe it may be more of a toss up than anyone believes, and the last game of the year for East & west will determine 2 & 3

I see West Montgomery has three transfers in this year, one from albemarle, one from up around Burlington and one from north stanly, two of the three should be in question, have to check with High School Association

1. East Montgomery
2. West Montgomery
3. North Stanly
4. North Moore
5. South Stanly
6. Union Academy
7. Albemarle
8. Chatham Central
9. South Davidson

EM has the most talent, WM has the most confidence. North Stanly might be good enough to win the conference but will end up losing to both WM and EM. North Moore and South Stanly will duke it out for 4th. The rest of the conference will just fight for wins.

I agree it's very funny how paperwork can be pushed away for certain kids all to keep a program going fair treatment is deserved across the Board

lol, Grade Pro. Keep it going. October is coming to bite You in the Butt

Over all most of the teams looked decent, it's hard to judge how teams will play out just watching 7on7 because some of the teams are running teams, with the rules for 7on7 they give the QB's 4 seconds to throw and we all know they don't have 4 seconds in a game.

The whole YVC is weak this year. I bet not one team makes it past the second round.

Sway I agree with you a 100% that's why I think non-conference schedule should be with better competition to get all the boys really for the playoffs because last couple of years our conference teams gets punched in the mouth in the 2nd round.

It is easy to bark in the dark. Until we see how injuries affect the league, no one can know. Depth not factored, I would offer this as the conference finish:

1. East Mont.
2. W. Mont.
3. N. Moore
4. Union Ac.
5. N. Stanly
6. S. Stanly
7. Chatham C.
8. Albemarle
9. S. Davidson

Welcome back sleehrat, don't be gone so long!

Good to be back. Pull this up in November and see if I am close. I do think EM wins it this year. Injuries could slow the progress of any program, but I think NM and EM are both three td's better than they were four years ago. To win the YVC, they need a good bounce every now and then vs. WM, but this might be the year.
