your guess is good as mine lolGood game here. 96 how big is this crowd? Looks to me like 3000 plus?
i told you where i was at. maybe next time.Look me up. Where u at? I got a white state hat on and a ref and black earnhardt sr coat on.
i saw a much closer game than you did, but thats probably because we have lost so many heartbreakers over the years, and i was nervous until the clock read all zeroes. also i saw the legendary Bob Lewis standing about 30 feet from me during part of the game. high school football royalty!Congratulations to East Duplin on winning their 1st Eastern Championship. I attended the game. Very impressive! North Davidson simply had no answer at all for East Duplin's rushing attack. They simply could not and did not stop the Panthers at all. I usually do not pull for East Duplin but it was good to see an eastern North Carolina team play the way they did. Usually, we always hear of western NC dominance. Believe me when I say this game was not as close as the score indicates. Take nothing away from North Davidson, they had a very good team and had some offensive skills (plus their kicker-Go Pack!) but the Panthers just gashed them, and when I say gash, I mean gashed! I don't recall the Panthers making a single mistake. When North Davidson took the opening kickoff and on the 3rd play of the game they broke open about a 70 yard (est) TD run quickly, I thought oh my! But the Panthers didn't panic and they went about their own business marching the ball the length of the field on their initial possession as well. After that and by the 2nd qtr, it became evident to me that North Davidson was not going to be able to stop the Panthers and with the Panthers taking the lead, it further became apparent if they did not turn the ball over they were going to win the game. They did not turn the ball over.
Just the way I saw it.
It's going to be interesting to see the statistics of this game. I'm glad we decided to go to this game instead of the WRH/SWO game.
Also postgame I thought of my friend, the Judge, and knew he was smiling up there
Good luck to the Panthers in the championship game. and good luck to the Bulldogs and Rebels as well.
Jack wouldn't have said it better. Way to go Battle!Classy post from the Wiz. Great win for ED. Something to be said for the way ED does it. Just line it up and see if you can stop it. I know the spread is all the rage now, but something special watching teams that know how to run the wing-t.
What a great game tonight. Glad I was there.
If you run that offense and run it well like ED did tonight, you can control the tempo of the game. I've looked at the stats in the Jacksonville Daily News a few minutes ago and though the total yards are quite close, the stat that's not showed is the time of possession, and tonight ED just kept that ball and gashed. Yes, it was a 10 point game, yes the total yards were close but very early before the first half was over, knowing the Panthers were going to get the ball the second half we felt pretty certain barring a turnover, East Duplin was going to win this game.I can't believe I'm going to say this, but it was a pretty thing to watch, knowing that North Davidson was a very very good team but to see ED control it like that. Very much like WRH did against Northeastern last week. Go ECC!i guess im spoiled by the Wing-T being a staple of southeastern NC football, but i really never appreciated as much as i should of how good of an offense it really is. when you see teams that are not used to defending it struggling to find ways to stop it, you see how effective it really is!
