#2 Lincolnton 42 - #5 East Lincoln 35 - FINAL

You've got to imagine that come playoffs, someone will scheme against him and have the athletes to shut down what they have left. Oh, like Shelby. All in one basket will run out eventually.

Lincolnton has lots more weapons other than Surratt.

Then maybe they should have completed only 15 passes to him and gone to someone else when it counted. Get real dude. Maybe against everyone else in little 2A they can showcase those other weapons. But against EL and Shelby, they need every drop of blood Surratt will give them.

I seriously took East for granted coming in....the Graham kid is something special.... Flat out can do it....dynamic game to watch....the crowd off the charts... I can say this one is an all time great....

Agreed, dude. We will need every drop from everybody on the field to beat Shelby, dude. As we also used last night against East. Sage is good on both sides of the ball, but he didn't win alone. Based on some media reports, you'd think so. But it was a team effort, make no mistake. Were Givens not tackled prior to two deep throws, the narrative would be about his 3 TDs ... (But that's a legit defense in HS ball, and only costs 15 if the ref decides to actually call it.)

Seems Cordell Littlejohn had a pretty good night, too... He completed 20 (plus) passes, ran well and managed the game nicely...Maybe we can get more blood out of everybody else, and won't have to drain Sage completely, lol. I haven't seen Shelby this year, but every year seems to bring a new all-time best team, so we don't expect to roll them easily...if we even play them. Dang, we just got past East for the first time in years, so I suppose we will have to wait and see!

This isn't our all-time best team...yet...whether it happens, we will see. But it is a danged fine team and very fun to watch.

Cool weather...football...message boards... We are blessed!

I really hope and pray people don't really think that Sage is the heartbeat of this team as such...those who saw this game should agree if Langdon isn't interfered with multiple times in route this game is over early.. The focus was actually on Langdon not beating them deep which made the matchup on the other side really easy.... Like they both said at the beginning if the season..." You can't double team us both"...this round he made them pay....since he does play on an "All Star team"....smh

Without your transfer you lose period. If Sage was still in Denver you probably lose by 14. I watched your game and saw that you better shore up that defense.

I guess we'll never know now...huh...oh yes he's all we have hands down no if ands or butts....mad much???? That's just as bad as their coach saying that Lincolnton is an "Allstar" team in the paper.... Smh

My goodness! Why don't you worry about yourself. And have some class like some of your fellow Lion posters.

Fact can be hard for some people.

You may be right. We may lose without Sage. But guess what, we have Sage. Would Shelby Magnet School have won as many games without RJ George a couple years back? We'll never know. Transfers happen. Lincolnton coaches didn't go out and recruit these few guys. Those players and their families made the decisions themselves to come here. And the most recent transfer (from Cherryville) was forced to move back to Lincolnton because of unfortunate circumstances.

Since you all about "FACTS".....let me share some with you....

-You mad and support an also very very good football team- FACT
-BUT DO I REALLY CARE WHAT YOU OR ANYONE ELSE HAS TO SAY IN A FORUM OF OPINIONS....HECK NO - TRUEST FACT
......enjoy the rest of your season because I plan too....yet another FACT

He is still learning this lesson as well folks, recently found out insurance wouldnt cover his new "orientation" operation. Class is something hitman has struggled with since high school.
Burns people lol

Wait. Are you the same HitmanT that guaranteed we would not be able to run on the Shelby D last year? If so, sir...I don't believe I can trust your assessment of our team, or your analysis of "film". If not, then I'm just gonna dismiss you as a bored negative poster trolling another teams thread, with limited knowledge of said teams makeup, philosophy, fan base or potential.

Some say your team is quite fortunate to not have been pitted against East Lincoln for the fast few years in the playoffs, while they played with some high profile transfers...some say you'd have beaten them handily even with their high profile transfers... The game never happened, so nobody knows for sure how the results would have looked. It seems that logic dictates that nobody knows the results of any unplayed game, such as LHS without Sage vs. ELHS with Sage... Seems that leaves us only with the logical conclusion that you can't possibly know the answer to the question, and that your claim to such knowledge only qualifies you as a boorish blow-hard.

Personally, I have great admiration and respect for the Shelby program. Except when we meet, I always favor the Golden Lions. I have read your boards enough to recognize you as a poster who just wants to talk smack, pick fights, and make catty remarks, with very limited knowledge of the subject matter...so I'm just gonna dismiss you, like Zuke, and enjoy this weeks win.

Hats off to our other transfer, From North Lincoln. He played a nice role in our win. Looking forward to good things from transfer 3, from Cherryville...I wish life was as simple for him as for HitmanT. Lastly to our kicker, who caught a game changing pass at the end of the game, despite injury.

End of the day...football is fun. Football message boards should be fun. And if you can complete 20 passes to one guy, with all of Denver trying to stop that one guy...do it.

GO WOLVES!

I'm not following, Beamer. He made directed comments about Lincolnton. What am I missing?
Hitman took a stab at Lincolnton for the transfers.

Then the lead transfer whiner from Cleveland county chimed in scolding hitman for doing the same thing he's done for 3 years on all crest threads.

Transfers are part of the game and most teams have some now and then.Shelby has 0 transfers this year but has had some through out the years. My one negative about the kid from Cherryville is he joined in the middle of the season. When you have kids on the team who have worked their butts off this summer and then gone through the hot days of August and then play in the first 6 games and then have to sit out because of this transfer.Just my opinion and I know everybody has one.I have always pulled for the Lincolnton program and this want stop me from continuing to do so.Good luck the rest of the season.

^^^^ This guy, reading your post has made everyone dumber. No logic and basically about as entertaining as your wife doing naked cartwheels bringing me waffles and syrup. Scary sight.

Your idea of class is some Shelby fan coming up and patting you on the butt and telling you how good your team is (not happening).

I skimmed over that useless jargon, and all you had to say was "Hitman your post offended me, don't point out any flaws in my team because it bothers me".

Not quite, HitmanT. You should have read instead of skimmed.
I said you are a boorish blowhard who has proven he doesn't know what he is talking about. I just read some of your other drivel, and have concluded that it is a way of life for you on these boards.

And your analysis of my post, I submit, proves that. Thanks!

I'm not an expert on football, so I'm not offended at football analysis. The Wolves have a number of areas where they can improve besides run defense. If and when they do, they will be a team that could go far.

I get what you are saying, SHS. And I agree, except for the circumstances of his "move" to Lincoln. It wasn't about sports. But that's not my story to tell. And looks like he will not displace anyone, but will allow us to keep a kid or 2 from playing both ways all the time, if that matters. Conspiracy theories aside, there would be no questions if he weren't talented. I am surprised by the level of Shelby's interest in it, though. But again, from where you are, I might feel the same way.

You just don't get it. You just don't care about your loyal kids who have put in years of sacrifice for your entertainment. Sir basically five positions have been taken from kids loyal to the staff and community. These are kids. So that message at 16 years old is work hard, be loyal, and the result is no reward. Could one not let them experience that in the workforce after high school? But for AlwaysAWolf it's about sticking it to their eastern rivals.

As for your comment on another thread- "what would Da Bomb Dropper do?" Ask him, he was born and raised in your community on your value system. Might explain some things including the bomb ceremony.

Ha! Nice, GDG.

I'm not sure what you are suggesting, sir. That we sit all the transfers and let our loyal kids play? That we somehow stop kids from moving to our District? Or if they do, that we discriminate against them because they aren't US? Wow!

And your coach wasn't raised in my community. I don't like his taunting victory show, but I would never think to blast him for not discriminating.. Or for coaching with the kids he had. Or for his silly insistence on playing his most talented athletes, transfers or not.

Get the cornbread outta your mouth, GDG and tell us specifically who and what burns you up so much about this situation! You do know that transfers sweat, train and bleed just like home grown players? What's this really about, man?

Your idea is sports socialism...we have enough of that in our Country now.

I know the details of what happened with Surratt. I know that if a slew of talented transfers happened to move into my district... I'd accept them. I believe just about all of you out there would as well. I think Lincolnton is taking too much heat over this and I'm an East Lincoln guy. I can't stand Lincolnton but...we lost.

GDG I understand what you are saying but this is just a part of the game. It sucks for the kids that get pushed aside but maybe it also has a lesson in itself. A lot of children these days are taught that they are mister or miss special and many times there are going to be people who are just better than you at certain things. Everyone has to learn at some point to deal with that.

Holy moly..... I'm floored ....one of the few civil people on the east side has spoken.....

Directly to you Always. Do you think I would ever believe Newton would beat Lincolnton without transfers. Get real. Before then I picked them after Lincolnton, East, Maiden, and West Caldwell. I'm a realist. Go back and look at dates and post. Believe what you want but in the end this may be problematic for your program. Lots of kids have spent a lot of time in this house and told lots of factual stories about coaches decisions.

The conference title goes thru Lincoln County, three years ago and three years from now. And I will get to watch great football in Denver and Lincolnton.

I said it before and here it is again. Take kids for academics were they succeed and athletes as well but do it as a freshman so the kids know how to respond. They may find wrestling, tennis, or soccer will bring much more fair play.

Apparently you have no idea how these kids feel when they endure 97 degree summers, camps, weight lifting, and for AlwaysAWolf's enjoyment. But those loyal subjects get cast to the side, maybe after three years for mobile kids who have no ties to the program. For what? To sit after foregoing family vacations, a chance to work summers for a car, spend more time improving academics?

Now I hear Lincolnton is a place of refugee. I have never seen the Statue of Liberty on the your town square. Give me your tired, poor, your huddled masses..... Should read give me your all state, your 6'5", your 7 footer. I suppose a kid was driven out of Denver by ISIS. Out of North Lincoln by Assad's army. All those likes you get come from people who have enjoyed many years of pointing towards your rival and Mt. Holly. But now its laugh it up time at the expense of loyal Lincolnton kids. Let me know when Ellis Island south gives tours.

All this nonsense ... "Transfers make kids sit" ... last time I checked it wasn't about one kid, or even 3 or 4 transfers, it's not about them. Obviously if it was about Sage, he would be Shrine bowl ... but that is not the case. It has been and will always be ONE PACK ... not one player ... so if someone has to come out and stand on side and watch a transfer make a tackle for loss ... then come back in ... so be it ... That's why Lincolnton is good this year ... because they support each other and build each other up, it isn't about one person being better than the other, it is the sum of all the good parts coming together when it needs to, to be the team that they need to be to win big ball games. You talk all you want, the fact of the matter is that all of you are concerned about things that these kids could care less about. Your politics, your "history", you can keep it, I'll take kids supporting each other and lifting each other up to reach their own goals over all this nonsense.... Go Wolves

I'm sorry, GDG... I'm completely lost in your reasoning. I believe it safe to say that we won't come to an agreement regarding this issue. I would like to understand what you would tell the 7 footer? I'd like to get the reasoning behind your impassioned insistence on playing only loyal kids who have been in the system for three years...but I'm just not following. I know many athletes who train, put in the time, lift the weights and grew up in town who never get to play. The idea that loyal players (who give up cars) should play over transfers (who also put in the work, and give up cars) is foreign to me. I'm as loyal a homer as they come, but I can't fathom supporting a coaches decision to sit a player because he transferred into the school district. Do you advocate playing the loyal worker over the more skilled player who relies on talent more than work? Outside issues of attitude or dissension, I doubt it... I give up, as I just cannot follow.

And none of those guys and gals are playing for my enjoyment. They are playing for their coaches, their teammates, their school, and their town. Perhaps these transfers will wreck our program, as you suggest. Or perhaps they will be welcomed back to the sidelines and the grandstands of LHS for years to come. I have witnessed much of the latter, none of the former. But hey, maybe you know something about these Wolves that I don't.

As the kids that come thru my house say these days...whatever.

I liked the old GDG better

GO WOLVES
