As a West Forsyth fan who watched both of these teams vs West…. This game is dead even…. East Forsyth is more fickle with its defense being inconsistent but I like their offense better. Toss Up!

Geez Butler might have been one of the best four win teams I remember. Irmo, Weddington and East Forsyth with opportunities to some of those games and be competitive with the circumstances being what they were is impressive.

I think Butler was the best offense Weddington played all year so East will be a very capable offense. East has to mix up in their play calling. Butler thought they can just drop Lawerence back and have him pick Weddington apart and they got him hurt. Weddington isn’t a really explosive offense but very balanced so East has to be disciplined.

I think it will be a competitive game. I would be shocked if its lopsided.

Initially, I was going to say Weddington by 3-4 TDs, but I think this could be very close with East maybe upsetting them. But East will need to be firing on all cylinders to do so. Penalties and mistakes will have to be at a minimum.

My prediction for now is Weddington 38 - East 28.

Three of the four last games EF has given up 42 to West Forsyth, 35 to Butler and 30 to Mooresville. I'm guessing Weddington is good for 35-42. Weddington has given up 2 TDs in a game once.

I gonna go Weddington 38- EF 14 but wouldn't be shocked Weddington gets it into the mid 40s

EF has issues stopping people.

Weddington has been in the Cupcake bracket and EF will be the best team they've played since Butler. EF has struggled on the defensive side. They have the better QB with Baker. Weddingtons secondary is a little above average. Both teams struggled against Butler. I have no clue on this one. Whoever has the most points. 🤣

To me it seems like a pick em. If East can mix up the run and pass they can make this a good game. I think they will have a speed advantage in my opinion. I think Weddington will have the physicality and maybe a size advantage.

Did he say Weddington had a cupcake bracket ? Wow!!!! Bulletin board material right there.
Yes! It's not bulletin board material either. No one at Weddington would have requested a different bracket. They used the cupcakes with the party they threw for getting that bracket. There is no Wow!!!

AL Brown: 5-6
Sun Valley: A team they had already destroyed during the season. 49-14
Northern Guildord: Who struggled to beat super powerhouse 3-8 Greensboro Page.

I couldn't imagine a team using that as Bulletin Board material. 🤣 Whatever works for you!

I guess instead of playing the lower seeds you should just go right into Weddington playing Grimsley and Dudley Playing Hickory? Doesn't matter what you think or what I think seeds are seeds. You play who is next up. I guess JH Rose doesn't care they're 30th seed and still playing . Hold it i know they're playing in a cupcake bracket too right. Weddington is a good football team. Until someone beats them or knocks them out say what you want. They're still the defending state champion. Grimsley was handed a gift when they won it . With everyone else's players . Same with Hickory until someone knocks them out they're still the defending champions. Kansas City Chiefs as well. Could of ,should of if ands and buts don't do it.

Weddington’s offense doesn’t have to be as dynamic as it was last season to win this game but a lack of defense will finally catch up to EF in this game. Running the ball and getting after Bryce Baker will decide the game.

I say the same. I saw Weddington against West Forsyth and other than some size I wasn't impressed. EF will have an advantage athletically and I believe they can exploit further what West attempted to do. Weddington doesn't overwhelm you offensively either but they don't beat themselves. EF will have to continue to rely on bend don't break defense and see what happens. EF should be able to score on Weddington watching WF move the ball on them before they imploded. I too believe this is a pickem game and said of the 3 teams left in West bracket Weddington would be more favorable match up for East Forsyth.

I think it goes both ways. I believe EF is a more favorable match up for Weddington as well. I still believe the winner of Hough/Grimsley will represent the West.

Giving up approx 33/game in the playoffs I don't think constitutes "bend but don't break." Their D is broken. Fortunately for EF, none of their opponents had the defense to take advantage of this. I believe Weddington does.

You can make a case for that but another poster mentioned already this will be the best offense Weddington will have seen to date. It should be interesting. This is the Friday night you wish they had that NFL red zone thing for the NCHSAA 4th round going forward. 😆

Let me rephrase that then. Bending and partially broken hoping for a break type of defense. I fixed it. It's sickening to see that because we've always held on to a solid D before we've ever had an O. We used to wonder would EF ever update the O and they did. Just didn't think our second time with a prolific O our D would hemorrhage like it does. Smh.

Very emotional post you got there, we all have observations of what we see in matchups. I believe Weddington's bracket was very favorable for them, but will work against them against stiffer competition, which is coming. They'll just start basketball season later than others. I don't see their offense as electric. Competition matters. Huge props to JH Rose who's 5-8 and still playing. I'm confident they've exceeded their expectations.

No, Grimsley was not handed a gift, and you shouldn't be critiquing their players, if you're not including Weddington in that conversation. They definitely got some gifts.

I have no clue what the Hickory, Kansas City Chiefs analogy had to do with having an easy bracket. WTH is that all about?

Let me put my 2 cents in...LOL! Both teams are having a great year. Unfortunately, this game will come down to defense and I just don't see East Forsyth winning this unless something the football Gods touch them. Lets look at the match up. East Forsyth can score and I think we can all agree with that. The X-factor will come down to key match ups. East don't really have a great WR crew. The JP kid is their offense! Weddington probably do the best of any team that I have seen this year scheming up their opponent. This will play cover 4 and bring pressure when needed. They are good enough up front which will be the down fall for East Forsyth. Baker is a difference maker but they will need the defense to stop Weddington and I think Weddington can stop East more times. My final score 42- 21. Weddington will be up big before the 4th.
