Before the games begin tonight and tomorrow night just wanted to say how proud we are in Albemarle for what these 2 teams have accomplished this year. To make it to the "Elite 8" for both teams is something new to us. Known primarly as a football school this is somewhat new ground for us. What these kids have had to endure this year: the football team had to forfeit their whole season, a shooting on campus and now the school board is considering closing the school for good. No matter what happens tonight and tomorrow night these kids have made us all proud to be called "Bulldogs".

Amen Buddy. These kids are truly showing us all what a "no quit" mentality is. They have done a fantastic job but out Bulldogs are not done yet ;). Give EM hell Blue!!!!

Being an Albemarle alum and having played under Coach Andrew for 4 years during high school, it's really great to read/see the success that the dogs have had/are having this season.

I can say without a shadow of a doubt that no one is more deserving of the recognition and success than Coach Andrew. Obviously, he has an amazing track record and proven coaching ability which can easily be seen by looking at his stats, victories, and other on-court accomplishments. However, the mentor that he is to his players off the court exceeds any award or accolade that he may be given. Most people won't get the opportunity to see his greatest asset of all which is making each one of his players a better person, before making them a better basketball player. His focus centers around attention to detail, holding yourself accountable, and ultimately working to become successful in all areas of life; not just basketball.

Regardless of how the season ultimately ends up, I hope people realize that Coach Al Andrew possesses every trait you look for in a role model, coach, and most importantly, a person.

GO DOGS
