West wins 37-33 Bareman! A real barn burner! Typical East Surry game! Pass, pass, more pass, then shoot 3-minutes later...lol. When East tried to run with them, West took a 10-point lead pretty quick. If East Surry slows it down and works in their half court game, they can be very good....

How many total points are scored does not have anything to do with who wins. It is all about who scores the most. There has been an increasing number of teams that think it is only basketball if both teams run as fast as they can, take bad shots, and turn the ball over a lot so the game can be played in the 70's. Sorry but this is an AAU mindset. Disciplined and well coached teams will try to force other less disciplined teams into playing half court basketball. East Surry is well coached and disciplined and I am glad to see that there are still teams trying to play the game the right way.

Both teams played pretty solid defense for the most part of the game. You can still see areas where they need to work on, but still tough hard nosed game by both. Always a good atmosphere when these teams play each other.

Curious coach. How was the game officiated in terms of hand checking. Watched another game last night and could not believe how tightly it was called

really not too bad in terms of the hand checking. In the scrimmage we did, they all would have fouled out early in a regular game but last night as tight as the defense was I believe there was only 4 total team fouls together in the 3rd quarter, then we had to start fouling in the last minute or so.
