Yeah I know, we heard the same thing last year, yet A.C. Reynolds played for the 3AA title, Mountain Heritage played in the Western 2A Final and Cherokee won the 1A title, so we have heard it all before, and it is just a lot of noise as usual from Morons like you!

Hibriten is not even considered a mountain team. I would say Reynolds has just a good as chance as huss does.

Ok all I can say is this every time that I coached against a team from the Asheville Area as an assistant or head coach the team I coached for lost.

Those teams can play and are faster than you might think

Us true mountain folk now exactly what wnc and mtn means. It's the teams that are covered by asheville citizen and wlos. Watagua is definitely a mtn team but they are not covered here. Why all know what the original poster meant

Whoever beats Watauga (if anyone does) will have to do it in sub freezing temps. They have an undeniable advantage because the weather up there can go from clear to snowing in a matter of minutes. Yes it gets cold in other areas, however it's a different world up there. We used to be in their conference so I've seen it first hand.

Watauga has a coach from Fuquay Varina, who owned that area in football for a long time. Habich is the closest thing to a game planning genius that I've ever seen. If you haven't ever played @ Watauga, which I'm sure the guy bashing mountain football hasn't even been to Boone, then you don't know what cold is. The last time Watauga had the one seed, they went straight to the Western Finals, and that was with one solid player.

Imagine what this team from Boone can do with TWO 1000 yard rushers and two mobile QBs. Not to mention the football field was built in a valley that acts like a wind tunnel with temps so cold the area rips through your bones. I'll be in Boone for the game Friday, I'm making the drive back home. Even the thought of sitting in that cold makes me shiver, those kids practice in it daily.

Alexander Central has a solid defense and mix up the run/pass very well. They just ran into two superior teams during the season. I don't feel like they have a bad loss.

Yes, but it was a long time ago. Just after they won the 3A state championship, they were moved to 4A where Watauga couldn't really compete. 3A is where they should have been for years.

Stop their run and force them to pass. Throw it deep.

AC runs a power run game and it can be stopped with a decent defense. They have had some injuries of late on offense, but be prepared for a great defense with the front seven, led by #51 Chapman. He is headed to the Shrine Bowl and you will find out why if you don't get him blocked.
