I don't think any single 1A East team right now has wat it takes to even slow Tarboro down, much less stop them. Mount Airy seemed like the only other team to match them but we'll see
They’ve been wanting it and they’re gonna get it Friday night. I just hope our guys don’t respond to any of their antics.
I have been waiting a couple of years for this game, so I might as well get the thread going. I had two kids at Wilson Prep. I went to Wilson Prep games, but I found myself not liking this football team much. Yeah, they have talented players, but they are so incredibly undisciplined. If they were ever able to get all 11 guys trying to accomplish the same task, they could be great. But every year they managed to avoid the measuring stick in the East by losing close games to less talented teams with more grit and discipline. They don’t know what deep water they are heading into. I’m normally a humble fan, but I really and looking forward to seeing the Vikings pound on WP.

As another poster said, I hope our players don’t take the bait and play a clean game. We saw how they acted at the jamboree, so we’ve gotta stay disciplined and let the scoreboard board do the talking
That would be disappointing, but I just don’t see that happening. Wilson Prep is more of a risk of throwing themselves off their game than they are throwing other teams off their game.
Another wipeout… Like I said, no one in the 1A East is anywhere close to going into Tarboro and winning.
That’s my question. Do they have any fans being such a new school?
They’ve done some talking on several platforms and have made it known they wanted us, so they are going to get what they asked for, and we are going to see if they can handle it
I don't see them stopping Tarboros offense. Apparently they got some good size guys upfront but I don't see them slowing Tarboro down. Warren county scored 26 on them and Tarboro beat them 71-0
Wilson prep head coach said on football Friday they gonna come to Tarboro and take what's theirs.

I know little about this year, but Wilson Prep home games weren’t that well attended. They typically charge $10 for regular season games against KIPP, Rocky Mount Prep, etc. I don’t expect anything bigger than Pender brought.
The bravado goes a long way with that administration. It attracts the kind of mercenary athletes they want. They’ve been lucky in prior years to be eliminated from the playoffs in close losses to lesser teams than Tarboro. A wise man once said, “Everyone has a plan until you’re punched in the mouth.”
I agree. However with the expansion of classifications next year, Wilson prep will more than likely cakewalk to the 1a championship the next 4 years at least. Especially with Tarboro going to 2a

We have been waiting for this game since WPA said they wanted to go to Tarboro in the local newspaper. As good as they are, I don't think they are yet on the Tarboro level. Every coach I talked to told me that getting Tarboro is the dream game of your season, but it soon becomes a reality of how much different your program is versus theirs when the clock starts.

That’s everything that’s wrong with sports right now. Schools third year sitting right in the heart of Charlotte and going against small town 1A teams.
Basically picking up solid players that were borderline players on 4A schools in the Charlotte area. A joke to me.

Their defensive line was incredible. Very well coached team and disciplined also. Best defense MA Bears have played in a very long time, although MA didn’t have the trench play they had in years past, Corvian was solid! Going to be a great game between them and Mountain Heritage
This MA team seemed way too reliant on one RB. Martin is a good back, but when Corvian sold out to not letting that guy beat them, the Bears couldn’t muster enough to get it done. Gutsy effort by that young man, but fumbling on the final drive will be in his head the entire off season. I feel for him.

Correct, in years past MA could hit you with more than one player including the passing game. They rode #4 all year because he could usually get the job done, but last night they zeroed in on him and MA had nothing else to turn too. Just not as talented as in years past, it happens!

Sure they are LOL. Wilson Prep is going to find out what big boy football is all about come Friday. They'll take their L and go home with their tail between their legs.
They started running the clock with about 7:30 left in the second quarter! And started subbing…
