Biggest question I am hearing is who will start game 1 on the hill for the Pack. Doubt we will know until pregame on Friday, but fire away!

Murphy's only real chance in this series is to force Gore to go the distance in the game he starts to limit his availability thereafter. Obviously the only way that happens is for Murphy to have an equal pitching performance in the game Gore starts, it's unlikely but possible. Murphy's #16 has thrown a no hitter this year, obviously not against an opponent the level of Whiteville, but still against a pretty decent team.

The reality is Whiteville was plenty good enough to win the 2A title this year and probably would've made a good run in the 3A bracket. Murphy has a monumental task in front of them and it will take their pitchers being totally on to have any kind of shot in this series. They absolutely can not have a game like they did game 2 against North Stanly or it's series over.

Guess we will see what Coach's strategy is or continues to be, but he has not started Gore in game one in the playoffs. Not sure if he did the previous years. Our #2 and others are very good, and are very capable of winning game one without Gore. If so, game 2 becomes a big advantage to the Pack with Gore starting.

Really tough battle for Murphy with all 3 of Whiteville's probably starters with State Championship Experience and Gore playing in his 4th straight state championship series. I think Gore's experience and ability to lead the younger kids at Whiteville is what will help Gore leave his legacy at Whiteville and close out at state championship.
