This could be the best game of Week 2 in conference play. Whiteville and Fairmont have both played difficult non-conference schedules, and it is beginning to show in conference play. According to numbers, Fairmont has the best offense in the conference, but Whiteville is one of the best teams overall and they have played quality teams as well. I'll take the Wolfpack in this one since I believe Whiteville is more consistent across the board and has had a history of beating Fairmont even when they were good. Fairmont or Whiteville will battle South Columbus for the conference title.

Whiteville 35 Fairmont 28

I read on Twitter that Fairmont QB Caulder left game with an arm injury, any info on this. I agree with above post. Whiteville offensive line will give Fairmont defense fits and should be able to score on long drives, Fairmont Offense can score quickly via the pass, they have very good passing game.

Whiteville looked very good Friday night. I think they are better tan some thought.
Defense is right now guys. Off. is looking good and crisp with that option they run.
Fairmont will have their hands full this week.
If QB is out it will be ugly. I like the Pack in this one.

Whiteville 35. Fairmont 20

With that porous defense of Fairmont's, they may have trouble with some middle school teams. Whiteville wins .

Tabor City runs there coach off. He goes to Whiteville. Whiteville is terrible without him/with him. "Little" chance Whiteville is ever going to see tradition again.

Whiteville had 350 yds. rushing on 41 plays. They fumbled the ball 6 times loosing 2 of them. One they lost
at the Fairmont 25 and the other one they lost at the Fairmont 3 yard line. Fairmont had a great game on
offense. Caulder was 24 for 32 for around 370 yards. They kept the ball most of the second half. No turnovers.
Give Fairmont credit they won the game and Whiteville lost.

A lot of offense. If you rush for 350 yards think u should win? Other QB throws for 370 yards u lose
Good game.
All I can say is Fairmont probably sets a State record next Friday at WC. I've seen Whiteville and South play,I think SC beats Pack by 7 in last game of season.

I'd love sittin' slash standin' slash be at a juk joint tonight in Fairmont, or as it was known back in day, " The Paris of The Southeastern United States. " I'd love to be in Fairmont tonight, sittin' beneath a Spanish Moss laden tree, sippin' a fancy umbreller drank, gazing at the airplanes in the charcoal darkened skies wondering of their final destination , listening to distant dogs bark while the smell of freshly cut lawns tickle one's nose similar to them damn no see bugs, all the while having dreams of grass skirt wearing maidens that love to watch the sunsets, serenading the passing pedestrians with screeching ukulele solos.

What was the deal on this game? Fairmont D too much for Whitevilles triple option? Curious to know.
For whatever reason Whiteville only used 3 down line men to rush Caulder, no pressure at all. He had all night to scramble and find receivers. Six blockers to 3 rushers = plenty of time. Of course the only pass plays Whiteville has is drop back and throw the ball as far as you can and hope for the best or little screen pass, no slant or post routes. With Gafney at QB the triple option can be effective as he gives another power runner and passing ability, cant blame Hutchenson, 300 + yds rushing should win. Must learn to hold onto ball.

Whiteville defensive strategy was the same as in past years. Try to take away big plays and make Fairmont be consistent in moving ball down the field. Had served them well in past match ups.Well DBs did let a couple of receivers get behind them this year and Moore made a circus catch for a touchdown when covered by 2 defenders. I thought Caulder's maturity was the difference. When pressured he hit the check down receiver instead of forcing a throw downfield. Fairmont's offense was also their best defense since they had long sustained drives especially in second half. Hard to score when offense is on sideline and other team is playing mistake free. Whiteville's fumbles certainly did not help, but I give Fairmont credit for winning the game.

Well coach gore isn't the defensive coordinator at south anymore but I can bet you money we won't send 3 against fairmont this year like we did last year. He better be ready to move. IMO sending three down lineman against a quarterback in high school is just giving the kid way too much respect, I mean heck watch football on Sunday's and even there they send at least 4 90% of the time.

Uust have seen side of Fairmont we have not seen yet.

WTXY right, caulders older now and if u can't get any pressure on him good as he is,he will find open man.
I think what Whiteville did is your best bet against a offense like Fairmont's. Unfortunately he is capable of making some kind of play down field.Give his recs. credit for getting open ,being well coached.
Fairmont will put up a lot this week vs. WC.

I was at this game and it should have been closer...Pack had way to many foolish penalties and turnovers....I know at least 5 drives that were extended by penalties that most of the time ended in points. Pack is very very young especially on offense....but that's not the same offense I've seen coach Little run in the past...the Gaffney kid in a spread running read option would be tough. Coach Heil made great adjustments at half and just really found the soft spots in pack defense all night...and dinked and dunked all night....Fairmont very athletic. They executed very nicely on offense....QB and #4 are a nice combo....Pack has to figure a way to throw it some...but it just didn't bounce there way Friday night.
