It will be a battle and probably go to the last play just like the last 2 years. Western is much more athletic and faster but eastern is bigger but depends heavily on one guy on offense.
Thanks EagleChap. Got word last night he is good. Nothing broken just think he sprained his neck. He'll be sore for a couple days I'm sure. That is one tough freshman there!
One of the most bizarre games i've watched in a while. WA self destructed in the second half after going up 30-13 to start the 3rd qrtr. Threw 2 pick 6's, didn't cover the kick off and EA gets it at the 1 yrd line, a blocked punt set up another EA score late in the game. Uncharacteristic of WA. The defensive adjustments EA made at half time to me was the difference. Hats off to EA for not quitting. Maybe, just maybe these two can meet again. Great High School football atmosphere last night!!!
Yea a complete self destruction by WA. They were clearly the better team but basically gave the game to Eastern. Eastern took advantage of what was given to them so hats off to them. But wow! Western was getting ready to score to go up 37-13 late in the 3rd quarter and threw a pick 6 from the 4 yard line that went 95 yards the other way on 4th down. Then the wheels fell of the bus. Unbelievable! They should have just kicked the field goal there for a 33-13 lead there and everything would have been fine. Easy to say after the fact though! I would welcome a rematch in the playoffs cause the better team didn't win this game. Western needs to do a better job of using all their weapons and not just the 2 supposed super stars. Eastern clearly only has 1 impact player but dang if he ain't a good one!
This was a great game. Western forgot to hammer the nail in the coffin. Both teams had their moments and both teams struggled.

Great ball game. Another classic. Eastern Alamance blew several chances to score in the first half while Western Alamance was very effective running the ball. If Western would have chosen to kick the field goal midway through the third quarter to go up 33-13 it could have very well been a different outcome. However, you could not help but get the feeling early on from the comments made in the local paper from WA players not being very impressed with EA that Western had a goal in mind and that goal was to run the score up on Eastern more so than just win the ball game. If Western would have stuck to the ground game they probably win this one but they went to the air I believe in an effort to embarass EA on their home field and seek revenge from last year loss and it cost them dearly. I think the "overall" better team did win this ball game.

Not sure what game you watched if you think EA was the better team in that game lol! Smarter team maybe, luckier team surely. They aren't even in it without WA's implosion.
Certainly can't argue that point lolMaybe outcoached would have been a better way of putting it.
