I had heard a lot about Fairmonts offense before going out to the game on Friday. Heard that they had the best WR in the state and had the horsepower to score quick. Been a WC fan my entire life, and I went out to the game on Friday to check out my Vikings take on the Tornadoes. This game was not close from the start. Fairmont's offense did not get on the field until after they had scored 2 touchdowns already, but they were nonetheless exciting. Before the game I thought that the qb would throw for over 300 yards and have 4 touchdowns in the air. WC hasnt been able to stop the pass all year. I was wrong. The Caulder kid only threw for 100 yards or so and Fairmont ran the ball most of the night. No kidding, tho, they could score in 4 or 5 plays. I read the Robeson County paper and they wrote that four different players scored. I heard that there was a coaching change, but that there was a guy who was on last years staff that is running the offense. I have also heard people say that hes a young guy in his mid 20s. Probably will be a special coach one day. I am sure that Coach Heil is overseeing the playcalling, though. Either way that is great that a young guy is having success at the varsity level at such a young age. He has some great talent to work with. South Columbus could be in trouble early Friday Night is they are not prepared to stop Fairmont's balanced attack. My prediction: Fairmont 42 South Columbus 21. I was going to come to the game next week, but my wife just told me that our homecoming is this week verses Red Springs. Probably will not be a pretty night for us. Just hoping that Evans returns soon so that we have a chance to sneak back into the playoffs.

I heard that they had the best wide receiver in the state: TRUE
No kidding, they could be in the endzone in 4 or 5 plays: TRUE
I have read where there was a coaching change: TRUE(Head Coach only)
Another person told me that their play caller was only in his early or mid 20s: TRUE
this young man could be a special coach: TRUE(already is)

May ride back over to Fairmont to check the game out: BRING 4 OR MORE FRIENDS WITH YOU. IT WILL BE A PACKED HOUSE( with SC and Red Springs ahead)

I guess all you can do is pass the word Mr. Wchsvikingpride

Hope the young man will turn out alright for you'll.

Not sure how Fairmont got beat so badly by Whiteville: The Zebras ate us up, then they had IHOP and desert during halftime in the Whiteville locker room. They were practically dranking from the same pond water Mr. Wchsvikingpride

Best WR in the state? Refs cheated? .... I don't doubt one bit that fairmont has a very good team.... But come on now lets don't get carried away .... They may beat my stallions by 50 but those two statements are alittle out there

Coach Heil probably has his hands in the play calling. He is a good coach, but he is a micro manager. I am sure he is calling the shots.

I still ain't drinking that kool-aid it's against the law to play pass defense in this part of the state....

Vikingpride, can you just point out a couple of the statements made by SC posters about how we give no respect to Whiteville, RS's or Fairmont. I think most posters have made it very clear that beating any of those 3 teams would be a pretty big upset. I can't speak for everybody but most people in the South Columbus area pull for West Columbus in just about every game y'all play, except SC, of course. Stallions lost their first 4 games and were beaten pretty badly in most of them so just don't see why anybody here would think we are "untouchable." Anyway, good luck to the Vikings on Friday night.

Mr. Wchsvikingpride,
Were you by slight chance the African American dude sitting right in front of the 47yrd line with them fancy $250 brand jeans and a hat and that "I'm protecting my Kardashian" stare type look sir?

Seems like other posters on this forum try to make the Stallion faithful something they're not... We've been spanked pretty bad the past two seasons but we think we're untouchable.... Ok? Beating fairmont,
red springs or Whiteville would be quiet a feat.... Shine being within two touchdowns would be great .... We've got the talent to do it... Putting it together is our problem

Mr. Core31,
When speaking about South Columbus sir, what kind of cancer lies within the problem?

Stallions are young.... Mostly sophomores I think.... Seem to be winded late in games... Blocking and tackling are issues ... This season can't end fast enough it'll be fun watching this team grow the next couple of seasons

That's some nice work you did there... We're down no doubt about it.... But we will be back no doubt about that either

No such thing as to much weight room lol.... I dunno buddy if I had the answers I'd be roaming the sidelines on Friday nights....

Yeah, they are. Only loss was to Hoggard, which they could have won if there was a little more time on the clock, scored 21 unanswered points after the Vikings jumped on us. I think Fairmont wins against SC, as Fairmont's offense will be too balanced for the Stallions to handle.

I think so just as well Mr. Footballfantic. I wouldn't say blow out heads apart totally before the game because this is truly a pound for pound preparation game for our next hurdle(Red Springs). We must win flawlessly against SC in order for that game to give us a bar of how we stand for the week following.

Fairmont has a good season and their all of sudden "Americas team" lol just kidding enjoy success it's easy to take for granted.... How many players do the tornaders have coming back next season ?

It's a rivalry game, so I also don't think it will be a blowout. SC has had a couple of down years, but they will be back...every team goes through that cycle. Lord knows my Dark Horses have.

Just googled what is a golden tornado .... And I must say its disturbing

This is the way I see it. With the new coach being that it is his first year in 2A coming from 4A and he ends up with a regular season record of 9-2(lets just say), shouldn't next year be even a bigger year for Fairmont...with the word to word conversations, current players moving up, and the physical toughness being embedded even more in to team spirit.

I think this game SC vs Fairmont closer than u think. SC wins close game.
West Columbus really let me down,I thought they could get 4 or 5 wins this year. Play offs are good toake but come on going each year with a 3 or 4 win reg. SEASON crazy.
Usually traveling 3,4 hours just to play.
Maybe this whole conf. Is weak compared to years past. Just saying. Whiteville should win conf. but I have a feeling SC might have something to say about that. We will know more Friday nite around 9:30.

No one is talking about Red Springs. They are 6-1 as we speak. Do they have a chance at winning out and finishing 2nd in the conference? Can they take down Fairmont and South Columbus?

I haven't seen them play but it seems pretty likely that they have a good shot at running the table and secure 2nd place in the conference. You never know, Whiteville could get upset and then Red Springs would tie for 1st. Anything could happen at this point in the season, one injury could change the dynamic for a team. South lost the Gore kid who plays safety and part-time qb to a broken ankle, a healthy team has huge advantage at this point in the season.
