I had heard a lot about Fairmonts offense before going out to the game on Friday. Heard that they had the best WR in the state and had the horsepower to score quick. Been a WC fan my entire life, and I went out to the game on Friday to check out my Vikings take on the Tornadoes. This game was not close from the start. Fairmont's offense did not get on the field until after they had scored 2 touchdowns already, but they were nonetheless exciting. Before the game I thought that the qb would throw for over 300 yards and have 4 touchdowns in the air. WC hasnt been able to stop the pass all year. I was wrong. The Caulder kid only threw for 100 yards or so and Fairmont ran the ball most of the night. No kidding, tho, they could score in 4 or 5 plays. I read the Robeson County paper and they wrote that four different players scored. I heard that there was a coaching change, but that there was a guy who was on last years staff that is running the offense. I have also heard people say that hes a young guy in his mid 20s. Probably will be a special coach one day. I am sure that Coach Heil is overseeing the playcalling, though. Either way that is great that a young guy is having success at the varsity level at such a young age. He has some great talent to work with. South Columbus could be in trouble early Friday Night is they are not prepared to stop Fairmont's balanced attack. My prediction: Fairmont 42 South Columbus 21. I was going to come to the game next week, but my wife just told me that our homecoming is this week verses Red Springs. Probably will not be a pretty night for us. Just hoping that Evans returns soon so that we have a chance to sneak back into the playoffs.
