Well one good thing for cherokee this season ..

Cherokee should be a good bit better next season. I still believe the Braves are probably two years away from beating any of the big 3 but I think they can put a few scares in them next year like Rosman was able to this year. I think 2017 is going to be the real breakout year for Cherokee. I look for that season to be the best team the Braves have fielded since '07, that is of course as long as they continue to improve in the trenches, because the skill talent should definitely be in place to achieve that. Are there any big promising 8th/9th grade linemen in the pipeline for Cherokee?

The NEW RULE has really help them. Braves should be better the next couple of years unless they loss any kids. Still don't see them beating the top three. Heard they might loss one of there best players. Don't know if that is true or not.

Why would they lose one of their best players? And I heard they got several new transfers coming in again, not from this area. They should be fun to watch next year.

If all the Indian kids went to Cherokee imagine what kind of team they would have. Look how many Indian kids go to Swain and Robbinsville and what they contribute to those teams. With all of those on one team plus Mintz at QB Cherokee would be unstoppable.

That's not going to happen. But yeah they would be good. They would be 1AA though.

I know it'll never happen. Just dreaming. Would be a tough team though. But I don't ever want to be a part of those "who should be 1A or 1AA" arguments that you get in to lol!

Do all Indian kids live in the Cherokee school district?

Most in Swain, Jackson, and Graham County. We have 4 0r 5 on the team most years.

Most of them live in Cherokee with the exception of the Robbinsville kids. BK is right, most are in Jackson, Swain and Graham counties. Swain and Jackson counties are on the Qualla Boundary, Robbinsville is about an hour away.

Which player are they losing?

Hey, if all the Swain County kids went to Swain, we'd have a hell of a team more often than not. Of course, they'd be little 2A... but even counting Shelby, that's not that much tougher than 1AA most years.

you are dreaming if you think 1aa and 2a are about the same Shelby Reidsville Thomasville Lincolnton just to name a few would win 1aa every year,..yall cant beat franklin and lost to smoky mt...lol

Well, a Swain that had all the kids who live in Swain County (including the ones from Cherokee) would be right in there fighting for a title most years.
