All I can rember is new Bern an those teams either won the 4a or 4aa title or went to it

I dont think the teams will combine for over 25 points....has the looks of a hard frought defensive struggle where turnovers and field position will play key....its gonna be a chess match between the coaches....13-10 or 14-7 type game could go either way i give Wallace the edge simply off home field
@Wiz, Jville is a very good football team. i know you cant always go by common opponents, but here are some interesting numbers. WRH beat Havelock 26-21, and Havelock beat New Bern 48-19. ED beat Jville 27-26, and Jville beat New bern 56-21 with 625 yds total offense. you can think Jville isnt a very good team if you want to. i know better. all this talk means nothing. i cant wait for Friday night to get here!
I can't either panther. Going to be a classic. Doesn't get any better to me. All my other teams suck. Can always count on my Bulldogs to give their all

I honestly think these two teams are as evenly matched as it gets and the best 2a teams in the east (and possibly the state) I've seen Shelby, color me unimpressed.
One thing is for sure though, I'll be making the drive from High Point to cheer for my Panthers. Hope they can spring the upset.

I didnt say Jacksonville wasn't s very good team , i just simply said i think Wallace Rise Hill is better. You mention New Bern ss a guage; New Bern and West Craven are both a very underperforming 1-4 this seadon so Jacksonville beating New Bern by whatever is not a good gauge. i agree. i definitely see us as the underdogs. especially since WRH has owned us the last few years. i pick my score based on what i think is possible, and what i hope will happen. while i think we're capable of winning, if i was picking from a neutral perspective i would give the Dogs a 7 pt. edge. but im not lol. im a diehard ED fan. im not saying a 2 or 3 td win cant happen, but i think the people that are picking WRH to win by a pretty large margin dont know how much experience and talent we have on our team. we returned 9 starters on what was a record setting defense as far as ED's history goes. ill admit we havent played our best lately, even with the lopsided victories, but i think a lot of that has to do with our best offensive player not being on the field. still, like WRH our defense is fast and aggresive, and it is hard to move the ball on us like it is on WRH. if we show up and play well, i expect a very good game. if we go through the motions WRH will probably make us pay.

I totally agree panther. WRH always shows up big. It's the rivalry that will make this close and either team can win. ED defense better play the best game of the year, cause the dogs defense is their best ever

i never said we "would" beat yall, i said we "could possibly" beat yall, meaning its possible. i know beating WRH is a very tough task, but are you saying a team that beats another team is never capable of losing to that team? at any rate, once Price's coaching has faded away, WRH wont be as dominant as they are now. 2 or 3 years from now you will see. i told the SWO fans the same thing before Padgett retired, and some didnt believe me. they believe me now. you will too.

So you are saying Mott cant coach the Bulldogs. Price had alot if talent when he was here. Mott has the samething. I have been around both and they are great coaches and great motivators. Its hard to win 5 titles in 8 years. But the coaches didnt play the game the players did. And they players have bought into Motts scheme and we are rolling. But good luck anyway.
didnt say he couldnt coach them. just dont think he can coach them as well as Price did. a coach makes all the difference. do you not realize how important the head coach is on "any" team?
Joey Price is the best coach I have ever known. That being said; Kevin Mottsinger has taken this 2 time state champion senior defense to a different level. Kevin has kept the offense running the wing t. Actually Adam Shronce is running offense which learned from coach Holley and Price. LLooks like a perfect fit for our Bulldogs, where talent never graduates. Guess we'll see

As long as WRH runs Wing T they have been fine. I remember that year I believe Sellers coached and had it all jacked up.
the talent never graduated at SWO either. theyre full of talent. however, talent means nothing without the right coaching! in 2 or 3 years you will see, unless Motzinger is one of those rare naturally gifted coaches. but judging by what i saw in his JK teams i dont think so.
