Voyager is looking to build on its 2014-15 success, having advanced to the fourth round of the playoffs after two consecutive first round knockouts. Despite losing four talented seniors, including All-Conference players Chris Sause (currently playing at NC Wesleyan) and Diante Parker (currently playing at Belmont Abbey), plus four-year point guard Gary Ford (now playing at Erskine), the Vikings return an experienced team that includes 10 returning seniors. 6’11” Jay Huff led the Vikings in scoring last year, averaging 16.3 ppg. He also led the team and the conference in rebounds (8.1) and blocked shots (5.0) last season. Chance Greene returns at the point. Greene is a crafty player with great court vision and NBA shooting range. Collin Faucette is an outstanding scorer is capable of scoring 20 points or more on any given night. 6’5” senior China Jones is expected to fill some of the void on the inside left by the graduation of Sause. Nelson White is also expected make up for the loss of Parker’s dynamic defensive presence and is capable of being a more consistent scorer. Voyager averaged over 78 ppg in 2014-15, and the Vikings look to maintain and even improve on that mark.
