Regular season co-champs Cummings and Reidsville both lost in the semifinals and will face off in a special playoff game to determine the number one seed for the state playoffs today (Friday, Feb. 22) at 4:30. That leaves Barlett Yancey, which beat Cummings 75-68, and Carrboro, which upended Reidsville 68-59, to face off for the boys championship tonight.

Meanwhile, Reidsville's No. 2 regular season girls team was upset by Graham 58-55 Thursday night leaving Graham with championship game matchup with undefeated NCSSM.

The winner of the #1 seed will get get #1. The loser will be the #2 seed. And then the winner of the championship tournament team will be an at large team...i believe thats how the rules work. If cummings and reidsville both finished with better conference record in regular season than the 2 teams n the championship game then it will work the way i stated. Conference tournaments dont have much weight as far as seeding goes. Other than to break ties from reg season teams.

Reidsville will get the #1 Seed....they beat Cummings earlier today by around 8 points or so on Cummings home court...Maybe the Rams are peaking at the right time.....................Conference tournaments are needless.....................

When and what time do they play. And who do they play the winner of if win?
Since Reidsville girls also have a first-round home game, I'm thinking 6:00 or 6:30 for the girls with the boys following. But since both James Kenan and Whiteville have long trips, it might be earlier.
To answer your question about time, I don't know.

As for second round ...Reidsville-James Kenan winner will face winner of #12 Randleman (18-7) vs. #21 Trinity (15-10) ...
If Reidsville wins it will be a second-round home game on Thursday since top seeds have home games and Reidsville is the #5 in Eastern Regional.

The East bracket also includes undefeated Farmville Central, the top seed, along with No. 2 Green Central (19-7), No. 3 Goldsboro (21-4) and No. 4 Vance County (21-5).

If the seeds hold, it will be Central vs. Central in the Eastern final. Go Central!
But maybe Nash, what else, Central will pull some upsets.

In the West, watch out for Wilkes Central and the the original Central, R-S Central.

Reidsville defeated James Kenan 83-75
Will play Randleman at home Thursday night
Cummings and Carrboro of the Mid-State 2-A also advanced with wins Tuesday. But Bartlett Yancey lost by 29 to Vance County. The Reidsville-Randleman winner plays the Vance County-Spring Creek winner in the sweet 16.

Winston-Salem Reynolds (4-A), McMichael (3-A) and Greensboro Smith (3-A) - teams that handed Reidsville four non-conference losses - also won first round games. Of the nine games Reidsville lost, the teams that were responsible for seven of them are still alive. The other two losses were not to NCHSAA schools.

Another loss was to Piedmont Classical that has already won their private school class state championship

More than likely away.
If Vance County, the 4 seed, is upset by Spring Creek, the 13 seed, and if No. 5 Reidsville wins over No. 12 Randleman, the Saturday Sweet 16 game will be at Reidsville. Higher seed gets home court.
Lots of ifs .....

Rams won over Randleman 59-56 tonight in a ragged game for both teams.

Down double digits in second half and a come from behind win. Breon Pass with ankle injury in second quarter but played the second half.

Pass also missed the last few minutes of the first-round game after limping off ... I'm guessing with the same ankle injury. This sophomore has a lot of heart.

Rams will play at Vance County Saturday ... check out this bracket ... lot of upsets so far. Carrboro - the 19 seed - continues to impress.

I checked out the rams for the first time this year. Pass and staff have done a good job the last 2 years ago.
Rams are a gritty team, hope they pull it out vs Vance.

Oh yeah, someone needs to be on demontez canada for a football scholarship
