Tuscola completely blew it the last 5 minutes. Awesome game and atmosphere; this was my second time attending this rivalry game. Pisgah controlled the entire second half. Before that last drive for Tuscola in regulation I think they had run 10-12 plays the whole 2nd half.

Great game. Tale of two halves. Tuscola controlled the first while Pisgah had turnovers and crucial penalties.
Pisgah played much better in the second half and caught a break or two to pull out a great win.

jv and varsity are two different animals. you have been a Tuscola cheerleader for years (despite your upbringing). at least I have a legitimate reason to pull for the "other" team on occasion, being a Tuscola alumni and having all my kids graduating from Pisgah..

Outcome not good for a Tuscola fan but a very good and hard fought game. Really thought we would win but Pisgah had a good game plan and controlled the second half. Over 13,000 in attendance, 19,000 on 50/50, two undefeated teams go to overtime....that is why it is in the best rivalry in the state! See you in Waynesville next year, can't wait!
I stood there and audibly wondered why Tuscola was passing at about 5:30 left in the game. A three and out passing to the sidelines (maybe 30 seconds off the clock) gave Pisgah the win because a three and out running up the middle would have burned a good 135 seconds (2.25 minutes) BEFORE a punt. Made no sense to me. I have to question Tuscola's clock management at the end of regulation.
I am a Mountie and I didnt like that play calling. My sons and daughter were fine with it since they are Bears...

Back when I was in High School (late '80s) the home stands were upgraded at both Tuscola and Pisgah fields. The home stands are nice.
Tuscola completely choked in the second half and deserved to lose. We got conservative and paid for it. I can't believe we took those athletes and lost to that team. Sometimes heart can beat a much better team. Congrats to Pisgah as they obviously wanted it more and it showed. Hell of a game. Everyone in NC needs to come to it. It is a treat and both sides can agree on that.
Wow. What a game. Our Defense did an awesome job containing Tuscola's speed. Until that last drive, Tuscola hadn't moved the move the entire second half. I think they decided to throw for that reason.
Much better team? We gave up 14 points off turnovers in the first half. Just because you all ran the score up on all these cupcakes and keep starters in the entire game of every game, even blowouts, to pad stats, doesn't necessarily mean you are the better team.
I agree we may not be a "much better team" (especially tonight) but didn't you guys get a few points of turnovers in the second half? And no, the starters were not in the entire game in any of those blowouts.

Mule was setting someone straight about the jv score after they posted it wrong.He predicted 21-20 in the paper Tuscola a lot closer that bammatide and most of the mountie people.

seems you are right about Mule in that instance, but he always blows the Tuscola trumpet regardless of injuries, stats or opponents actual abilities.
I didnt make any predictions because I had not seen Tuscola play at all this year. also, this is a County Clash and these games are unpredictable. I have seen the better team lose a few times. I'm not much of a betting man anyway.
my belated prediction is Pisgah by 3.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Ferguson didn't score the last Touchdown vs Smoky in the 56-6 blowout? I know Thursday night the starters were still in till the end. Also, in my opinion, after watching both quarterbacks, Tuscola's best one is starting on JVs.
Well my prediction wasn't quite accurate, but the Bears did what they know how to do best which is beat the Mounties. After watching the game, the Bears showed some Kahunas with that come back. Being down by 17 to an option team at the half is 99% of the time a death sentence. NOT TO THESE BEARS THOUGH. ALL HAIL KING CHAPPELL, DADDY OF THE MOUNTAINEERS!!!!
