What are your thoughts for the Tri-County 3A? I think this has the potential to be a competitive season, and not necessarily a one-team race.

Lee County was 15-1 last season, but the Yellow Jackets lost a ton of starters, however, they still have a lot of talent returning and they've got to be your favorite to win the league, but just how close is it?

Harnett Central may be the leading contender and they've got the most returning starters and their option can be hard to defend. I also think that Union Pines will be improved and could be in the mix to contend for the crown.

What are your thoughts?

This isn't official, it's just some preseason thoughts (kind of like thinking out loud)

1. Lee County (by a hair)
2. Harnett Central
3. Union Pines
4. Triton
5. Southern Lee
6. Western Harnett

Look for Lee County to repeat as Tri-County 6 Conference champions. Sure they lost talent from last year's 3AA state runner-up squad, but, the Yellow Jackets will reload. However, the talent gap is narrowing between the Jackets and other schools in the league.

Union Pines, will finish second in the conference. But, the Vikings will be challenged by Harnett Central. Union Pines has won three closely contested games versus the Trojans in the past three seasons. But, will UP extend that streak to four games?

Triton should be improved. It's hard to tell whether they will challenge the top three teams in the conference. Southern Lee will be trying to adjust under a new head coach. Western Harnett contimues to hold down the conference basement.

1) Lee County
2) Union Pines
3) Harnett Central
4) Triton
5) Southern Lee
6) Western Harnett
