Gaston County Athletic Director Chad Duncan hopes the county's schools in the Big South 2A/3A can stay together in the same conference

I guess they think that since it can still be constituted as a split conference with South Point and East Gaston switching places with Hunter Huss and Stuart Cramer, that it is a good thing. Split conferences suck. Plus, some of the proposals for the Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland County schools for single classification conferences are quite workable and much more desirable. I hope that SP AD Kent Hyde is not buying into this crap. If they want to keep us together, I hope that SP would petition to move up to 3A.

I am so pissed that I can't even find words - at least not words that wouldn't get me banned.

I figured as much....sure hope this does not happen.

I am beginning to think TPTB hate SP and EG. How much influence do the actual school ADs have on the final decision? If Stuart Cramer is on board with this after their coach whined about the inequities of playing bigger schools, then screw them.

I was just kidding/being sarcastic when I posted this last week, but if they can't get a split 3A/2A, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't propose the split 2A/1A instead.

I wouldn't put it past the same PTB that wanted the Gaston County Big South 3A/2A to propose a 2A/1A Gaston County conference with South Point, East Gaston, Bessemer City, Cherryville, Highland Tech, and Mountain Island Charter, with Thomas Jefferson and Lake Norman Charter thrown in to make numbers.

These days, government at any level sucks. They have completely lost sight of the fact they represent the people. Instead it is all about them and how much tax payer money they can stuff in their own pockets. Follow the money, you will see why they push for what they do or don't do. Disgusting.

If you had told me 10 years ago that there would be a HS on Lakewood Golf Course, I wouldn't have believed that either.

Super Fun Conference make sure to catch the excitement.

Cherryville, Bessemer City, Highland Tech, South Point, East Gaston, Lincolnton, North Lincoln, East Lincoln and West Lincoln.

Yours is better than what I pictured - at least Lincolnton and East Lincoln would be some competition. However, it is the wrong configuration as it has too many outside (Lincoln) teams and not enough charter schools (Mountain Island, Lake Norman, Thomas Jefferson) to make the ignominy complete.

What's so funny about this conference is if you added crest they only would have won it twice in the last ten years.
